All the 2024 LOQ models have suffered motherboard dead issues. It is very frequent in the intel hx models (12450hx- yes even this one, 13450hx, 13650hx, 14700hx) and there are 2 reported cases in the AMD 8845 hs LOQ. The main concern is that Lenovo is replacing dead motherboards with refurbished motherboards again and again. Even replaced motherboards are dying and underperforming. Few people had to undergo repeated motherboard replacement upto 3 times till they received refund that too after fighting a lot.

I just bought LOQ i5 12450hx rtx 3050 6gb vram. I am not facing any issues . The battery drain issue I guess people are facing due to puting it on battery conversion mode and using in high work load task or they have tweaked wrong settings in custom mode . And I did alot of gaming , productivity, multiple screens , all night on with plugged in , in different environments. And I found LOQ is doing best with its components and the thermals are well maintained. I guess it's usage problem, if they tweak wrong settings as it got La1 chip too which tweaks settings by your inputs

bro i have a loq w/t r7 7840hs and rtx4050, i got it at 85000 in offline store. I would give it a 6/10 Cons:- Its because of its mux switch, whenever i boot it in hybrid mode, windows doesn't boots up for the first time, i have to restart it in order to use it and that's very irritating... (I've been using it for 3 months) + its average temperatures are high, usually 83-86 degree... its speakers are not very loud Pros:- the best thing about this beast is that you can play and AAA+ game with max graphics over 60 fps in both cpu and gpu intensive games... i was amazed by the price because online it is list 1,10,000+ as of now in flipkart and at amazon its listed 90,000+, so i would recommend you to check offline stores too. Overall i would recommend you to buy it only for gaming because color gametes and keyboard trackpad doesn't matters if you're a casual gamer

Please include ollama using llama3 llms too as it uses cpu and gpu for locally generating results for questions asked. There are variety in llama3 like 4.2gb and raw 40gb llm.... Which makes full use if gpu and cpu. Also I would love to see ghist of tsushima pc director's cut too

I have 2023 loq with i5-13420H with RTX 3050 6 GB...... We have the option of CPU to GPU (& vice versa) dynamic boost in vantage software so it might help to clear bottleneck (maybe). Yes I am also facing battery draining issue and they do change it for a better power brick.... Heating is also (sort of) an issue but I have a cooling pad and usually play in AC room so that helps.

LOQ 2024 RAM 16GB DDR5 4800 MHz SSD 512GB Intel i2-12450HX RTX 3050 6GB @~70K. Less than 2 weeks usage. It has still worked good. But to my horror, one day after learning about recent faults that has been appearing in the other LOQs, my screen suddenly started flickering like crazy once while doing casual work. After restarting, it was ok and still working good. And I hope and wish it stays fine. Thank you.

One thing people forget is that running games at unlocked fps is unwise. If you are getting more than 60 fps in a game then its better and even recommended to enable vsync and lock fps to 60 at your desired graphics settings especially for single player games. This way the cpu and gpu won't be pushed to their limits and so power draw will be low and even temperature will be low. Thus over heating or throttling will not be an issue. Even in multiplayer games locking fps is always better than unlocked for more stability. If you have a 60 Hz display then it doesn't make sense to have more than 60 fps in your games as you probably won't feel the difference. & Yes I know running more fps than screen refresh rate reduces input lag, but personally the difference you feel is negligible compared to the advantages of low power draw & low temperature. Locking fps gives smooth gameplay, lowers cpu, gpu utilisation, lowers power draw and lowers temperature. Its a win win scenario. I think lenovo did a great job with this cpu gpu combo as it might struggle a bit in video editing but for gaming workload its a killer combination as most games are gpu dependent and when you lock fps to 60, thanks to rtx 4060 you get to enjoy smooth 60 fps with ultra graphics & no stutter.

a bottleneck is possible( theoretically at least)but from what I have heard 12450 is good enough. It's not the best but it will get 95% of the work done.

I bought lenovo LOQ i5 12450h , rtx 3050 6gb , 16 gb ram , around 10 months ago for 78k , it runs any game known to mankind above 60 fps with medium to high settings and i play with a cooling pad and temperature control in the lenovo vantage software and the cpu and gpu temprature remains under 70 , on new games like forbidden west the cpu temps reaches 75 to 80 sometimes , no other problems whatsoever , performing good so far.
