Here’s a fact for everyone to understand esp if you will use venti in abyss: EM venti = when you need to burst down crowds DPS venti = when you need to burst down bosses or heavier enemies. (Lectors) Either way, he is godly. Heavy CC, energy refund plus unlimited burst.

In my personal opinion, to max dps venti build, you’d wanna use characters like Bennett or mona to maximise his true damage. Because using Baal and Kokomi results in buffing electro/hydro infused swirl, which is more lenient towards his em build. Of course your build should just depend on what you like using him for more, or what team characters you’d prefer to play with him. Personally, since I don’t really have characters to constantly provide elemental swirl reactions, I build him as dps and my main focus would be on his skill, instead of his burst, and he’s actually really good :D Hell, I’ve even seen shotgun venti and it’s very intimidating, just build him however u wanna play him lol, have fun Edit: I have progressed and I’m almost done tripple crowning my venti, and can confirm I do much more with dps build than em build considering my circumstances and what buffs I can get. But uhhh yeah I actually use him more as a solo physical dps for fun now and it works really well actually aha Edit again: 200k venti HELL YEAH

I would like to point out that the infusions are getting hydro mostly, I think the crit got cryo on the third but I think is the lighting, Hydro on infusion trigger single swirls while the other elements trigger double swirls that make the EM damage higher on multitarget. That is msotly the reason why on anemo swirlds composition, most guides tell you to prioritize cryo/pyro or electro > hydro (most of times hydro is casted after anemo) That is why EM does more in multi scenarios while crit does more on singles

This is a bit of an unfair comparison. It skews in favor of EM venti for two main reasons: 1. Why not use his skill at all? It deals a good chunk of damage. Even at just level 6, the damage isn’t negligible. And who doesn’t use the classic e->q combo? 2. Why not 4p VV on the crit build? Even on a crit build, Venti still wants 4p VV for that sweet sweet swirl damage bonus and elemental res shred. His infusion does elemental damage, and he swirls a lot, so regardless of EM or crit build he always wants 4p VV. That small atk bonus will never beat out swirl damage and res shred. Never. And this isn’t in favor of EM venti, but still noteworthy imho: 3. Only level 80? Swirl scales off of level and EM, so you should have him at level 90. It’s understandable if you just don’t have the resources, though.

My Venti build is more hybrid of EM and DPS, since I feel he can be really useful as a mix. 45/115 for crit and 605 EM and he's doing great, I highly recommend a mix build for anyone wanting to use him as a DPS/Support (note: mine is lvl90 which makes EM more useful than if u were running him at lv80)

EM venti is the way to go for F2Ps, super easy to build. If you whale on Venti and get his C2, C4, and C6, he becomes a better DPS as he debuffs enemies anemo RES ridiculously. At C6, his DPS build is more potent than EM, especially if you give him the polar star or skyward harp, but he also makes a good support/carry for Xiao when you have his constellations since he just buffs anemo damage so well. And in theory, building hybrid Venti when you have his C6 makes him a very powerful DPS since he'll simultaneously be doing big CRIT Anemo damage, SWIRL damage, and Elemental Infusion damage. Granted, you'll probably want people like C2 Kazuha, C6 Diona, and/or a separate Elegy bow user to raise EM outside of Venti's artifacts.

The reason that venti EM build is so strong is because of how Swirl works: -Transformative Reaction such as Swirl also scale with your character's Lvls -Swirl if hits 2 or more enemy deal 2 instances of swirl meaning he can deal double the dmg Also venti Burst can only suck enemy if his lvls is falls under the threshold(Ex: Venti 80- CinCin Mage 100) So ... *MAX YOUR VENTI ASAP IF YOU HAVE HIM*

One thing I would like to add here is that even against multiple enemeies what build you want to go depends on what are the other reactions that can be triggered with your party members elements. The EM build while shine in transformative reaction comps because all transformative reactions deal AoE damage (swirl, overload, electrocharged, superconduct and notice how the latter 3 are electro reactions). In this video the electro-charged and swirl is on display which heavily favours EM build against hordes of enemies.

What people don't mention is that for an EM Venti the best set is VV but to get EM main stats on the circlet and sands with even decent substats in that domain is really very hard. I have all the anemo characters in the game so I had to grind it a lot and I still don't have even one decent EM piece from that domain even after an entire year of farming it.

Nice video! it seems that He is pretty easy to build and works with anything you have good on your account, my Venti is build in the half way, he have a full VV set but with the traditional crit/atk/anemo dmg build, using the stringless, he ended up with 200 EM, 53 cr and 103 cd and with this he gets the job done, sure he is not broken, but have a decent build to support any comp I can figure out without have to think too much in be swapping pieces around, my best EM pieces goes straight to my Sucrose.

tbh theres so many eror/lacking in this video but it is still a good reference, for example since venti e have a pretty huge multiplier it make a decent distinction for the dmg on the dps build. depending on how many enemy, skill talent(for dps build) and artifact sub stat(on dps too) it can make a considerable different but i think both build is good and if well built it doesnt really that much of a different. but if you have limited EM VV artifact better goes to kazuha/sucrose (if you have and use them)

For crowd control, EM venti. For single target, CR/CD venti. Also, electro can be swirled to its adjacent mob 2 times I think? Imagine if all mobs have electro status and then swirled. This would amplify the more mobs is in the vicinity that is why it is really preferable to swirl electro compared to other elements. It is not an equal comparison, IMO.

This setup is not what you really want to compare with Venti crit, as it amplify Venti EM build so much. The catch is that you infuse Venti Q with Hydro, and then apply Electro. By the order of swirl, Electro will be swirled, dealing swirl damage. Also, since Venti Q also apply Hydro, he will also be the trigger for Electro-Charged. Technically, EM is being used very optimally here. It can be used in abyss/overworld application, but not everytime since you are not allowed to fuck up the enemies' aura. A random instance of Pyro is guaranteed to boom the whole set up, as it will delete the Electro aura, meaning Venti will swirl Hydro (which deals 0 damage). The downside of EM is that it scale very bad with ATK/DMG/Final DMG Bonus buff or even skill scaling. Raiden Shogun is the one receiving TTDS buff from Kokomi here. If you let Venti be the one receiving it, maybe let Kokomi using ToM as well, that's 68% ATK, equivalent of more than 11 max ATK lines. Remember, at a very high stat (buff can make up for it, kqm standard stats assume 40 lines), crit > EM regardless of ST or AoE. Trivia: a C5 Aquila Bennett can buff 1200 + 4 NO 20% ATK, that's about 1350 ATK, or 168% ATK, 29 max ATK lines. A better rotation here for Venti would be Kokomi E -> (TTDS+ToM) Venti E Q -> Raiden Shogun E. Raiden Shogun E Q DMG Bonus is teambuff DMG Bonus, it can effectively "resnapshot" Venti Q, because Venti Q only snapshot his own stat, that's why you can E her later, and still receive the buff. The rotation above maximize comfort (for CC-ing enemies before casting RS E which is slow and vulnerable) while still having Kokomi as the first character, just like the video, while a better one which amplify Venti even more is Raiden Shogun E -> Kokomi E -> Venti E Q. With this rotation, Venti E will double swirl, effectively VV 2 elements Hydro and Electro. TL;DR: The video is misleading, without specifying why crit build is viable. For ST, without buff, most of the times, crit > EM. For AoE, only at a very high investment (and most of the times with buff), crit > EM. Also, even for crit Venti, always use 4 VV, that set is broken.

Ive 36 starred my abyss easily without even using 4pc vv on him as I use him as sub dps. Atk 1625, 59/180, EM 590, 2pc wanderer, 2pc vv. Weapon: stringless Note: i wish I have 4pc vv (still farming, as the vv shred is OP)

Notes I'd like to take from this video: 1) Venti is not 90/90 No, what you heard about 80 to 90 does NOT apply if you stack EM on Anemo characters Swirls and every other transformative reaction scales off LEVEL at a factor GREATER than characters people usually 90/90, like HP or Def scalers Please for the love of god if you want your EM build to have good damage you should level them up Reaction damage from level 80 to 90 is around a 30% boost, which is almost double of what Albedo gains (one of the characters who scale strongest with base def value), which is around ~15% Extra notes: - Building for EM means you don't have to invest in talents, meaning you actually SAVE resin by doing this build instead of building crits - Calculations from theorycrafters across multiple groups that I've seen all say that EM vs Crit on Venti specifically is a nuanced subject, as they perform around the same in general* (*excluding situations like chain reactions or just single target) if you have godly crit stats + a fancy wep/high refine strong 4*, it's ok to do crit if you really want to, running freeze biases towards crit however, so just run crit if you just use Venti for freeze if you're not sure - I personally *hate* it when people refer to crit setups on anemos built to swirl as their "dps" build, because it is 100% misleading. EM setups can out-dps crit builds on anemo units with the proper reaction support (which is why electro is so damn good reaction wise, but I'll save the "electro bad" misconception explanation another time)

You're right . But not about two things: - The EM build doesn't save resin, as it takes so much time to farm the VV domain to get EM main stats, and we get Maiden along, so it's a big waste of resin. EM has the rarest drop rate. It takes more resin than leveling the talents. - The EM build remains valid in freeze comps, because Venti swirl dmg are increased anyway. EM is useless to the cryo or the hydro char in freeze teams, but it's still useful for Venti's dmg. ( If Venti only swirls hydro, and not cryo, then better go for the atk set, but Venti usually swirls cryo, so EM if totally OK)

Normally with DPS build you should use E Skill too which gains high DMG from DPS build. Another note is with DPS build, he is an independent character so even at cases where he is the only left, he can solo.

EM is easier to build since it is a lot more forgiving in the substat rolls on Sands, Goblet, and Circlet once you get the EM main stats. You can also leave your talent level at low level, but it require you to level your character up to 90 if possible and also his Elemental skill damage will be greatly reduced. On the other hand, with his DPS build, you can leave your character's level at 80/80 and his elemental skill can be a mini nuke. But, depends on your artifacts luck it could take you for couples of days to forever to maximize his damage. You also want to level up your talent to at least level 8. The choice is yours. Edit: Oh you might want to factor those crits into your calculation since EM build is far more consistent in damage since they dont crit.

The only reason why I prefer goin' for a hybrid set is 'cause, if you happen to absorb the element of an enemy who's immune/has resistance to that specific element you absorbed, your EM build dmg drop significantly I don't care about my Venti's personal damage anyway, depending on the situation him havin' too much damage is even detrimental to the energy restoration of the party, but at least havin' some split scaling of Anemo and EM damage I'm guaranteed to have him bein' equally viable on most occasions

Of course the dps build would be lacking dmg bc his big asset on that build is his skill (E) after all. Both builds can be used depending on the role you will use him. Artifacts and weapon he used are correct and recommended for each build.

As a f2p player, I was both lucky an d unlucky. Got Ayato and went for his weapon. Got venti's signature weapon but I have no venti. I have 29 primos left and within 16 days I can't hope to get him.

I give you another insight: Build EM venti if you want to waste a ton of books, because you likely want him al lev 90 Build DPS venti if you have trash artifacts (ironic, i meant good) and you're fine with him level 80+ (he doesnt get a significative adv at lev 90 in that case)

little funny fact here, the 4 star bow Stringless R5 is actually stronger than the Skyward harp R1 in both crit build and EM build for Venti. The strongless excels even better if you build Venti as a Crit build but with the Stringless R5 instead. With around 60%crit rate and 120 Crit damage and at least 160% ER your damage with the Stringless R5 will be actually so broken that it would need at least a R4 Skyward Harp to be able to only match the Stringless R5 damage. If you have Venti and The Stringless R5 (which is super easy to get) go for it you wont regreat anything from it

Electrocharged swirl is stronger than others bc he's swirling 2 elements AND causing EC reactions. Also Venti is lvl 80. Burst talent only lvl 8 isn't optimal. If you really wanna compare them, it should at least be 9 (but really 10 imo). All in all a poor test

For those who don't know, DPS Venti will always reign superior over EM Venti, even in multiple enemy scenarios. It fundamentally boils down to the fact that Venti's kit scales better with pure anemo dmg as opposed to EM, plus none of his talents provide EM sharing or buffs, therefore preventing him from being able to increase his team's dmg output substantially. However, the damage and investment is so miniscule that most do not bother discussing EM vs. Crit Venti. He functions equally well with both builds, but sees a slight and negligible decrease in damage. Sucrose and Kazuha were the ones that people talked most about when it comes to EM, the former especially because it spearshot her status to one of the best 4* anemo supports in game. The only thing that stays the same in both builds are Venti's recommended 4* BiS and talent priorities. Both want Stringless, both prioritize Q, then E. When it comes to Kazuha, EM vs. Crit lines are little more blurred. Tho Kazuha generally gravitates to full EM as it plays into his kit, Crit Kazuha sees higher *personal* damage. If he can outperform his peers in personal damage AND overall damage, then crit is fundamentally better. However, comparing team damage is tricky because it varies from situations. The general consensus is that EM Kazuha is much more valuable and provides more presence to the playing field, so make your pick.

His test is not even valid: While he's cheating on high crit stats using food for the atk build, he's putting the EM build dmg down with a low level Venti. And on the other hand, he uses a 4 VV on EM build, but a 4 VV + 2 glad on the atk set, so this one get no resistance shred. Nothing is done as it should be.

Tbh currently my venti isnt too good and his crit and elemental mastery is awful but i use the 4 set of viridescent venerer on him and the favonius warbow. Im ar 38 and hes pretty bad but he does the job. I havent got a five star weapon yet which sucks but any recommendations to make my venti’s build better i would find helpful and appreciate it 💀

dps venti does 3k anemo tick / 900 swirl em venti does 900 anemo tick / 3000 swirl. em venti loses because swirl cant crit & it kills his skill dmg. you can use sucrose, c6 diona or elegy bow to augment dps venti and walk away much better.

Not really. Venti will deal damage with EM build if he's able to swirl another element. If you apply anemo immediately without swirling another element, then Venti will deal little to no damage.
