Wow! That is an incredible feat to be able to drive a Ventrac remotely! However i must say that i do enjoy the thrill of 30% slope mowing from the driver seat. These machines are excellent at what they do. Looking forward to what comes next

Great concept but here's something: add a gps. One day we should be able to map out properties, save them in a bank, and click a button to watch it go from the saved property.

When are you guys going to come out with a forestry mulcher attachment. The tough-cut just doesn't cut it.
@buckhammer5897Ай бұрын
I think a little drum mulcher would be a really smart move
@brandonpaul5712Ай бұрын
Probably never. The Ventrac just doesn't have enough power to run that kind of attachment. If they built a tractor with high enough horsepower to run one, they would have to redesign every single attachment they make to handle the stress of the increase in power.
@johnevans6053Ай бұрын
@@brandonpaul5712 They have mini-stand-on skid steers that you can get forestry mulchers for and they are about 25-30 hp units. You are probably correct, I don't have big hopes either that they can figure out the details, but why not challenge them? It would be nice if they had one.
@scottburgle2169Ай бұрын
@@brandonpaul5712 exactly....i actually watched this with a little thought that this would be a 45hp machine. Ventracs are a severely underpowered machine. I've owned 4 of them.
@markw2266Ай бұрын
As much as I like the belts for driving attachments, it is the weak link in adding more HP. A mechanical engineer told me that a 5V belt is only rated at 14 HP. I'm sure they are pushing that limit and if you over feed any attachment, you have to listen for the slip. Kinda proves his opinion.
@_P0tat07_Ай бұрын
Can we get a SDLA lever upgrade like that for the 4500
@qjason508Ай бұрын
Should put a rear facing camera and have it where you can go from front to rear with a button, and keep the mechanical controls for the comfort and better feel for the tractor. What’s the MSRP for one in Canada without attachments?
@brianmills4891Ай бұрын
very cool idea. Without additional traction of some kind I don't know why I would get off it except maybe because of cold weather. I feel totally safe on any terrain. And if I think I'm at risk on the machine then the I think the machine is at risk, and no way I'm taking a chance on that with a 70K investment. what I'm waiting for is the all-electric ventrac!
@codeyknepper5651Ай бұрын
I think this is great if no operator allows for a better slope rating. But since nothing was mentioned about that, I am assuming that the slope rating doesn’t change? How about getting that joystick on a regular drive model?
@dalebargenАй бұрын
@@codeyknepper5651 The slope rating may not change for liability reasons, but every operator will test its limits and I’m sure it can exceed what can be done with an operator onboard. I would add every weight possible however!
@bluecordprecisiongrading2504Ай бұрын
I'm curious to see how the 3 point controls are operated. As far as "advantages" of the RC system over being operated on the seat, I'm only seeing a slight difference in a lower center of gravity without an operator on the machine. Aside from that, the slope capabilities should be the same, right? What is the slope rating of the new machine with or without an operator?
@nateonps1064Ай бұрын
So, I sell these, the slope rating is unchanged. they are capped out by the engine slope requirements. Only real option is improve the rating, is to go to a battery option.
@davem3789Ай бұрын
1:13 should be using a push mower.
@johnevans6053Ай бұрын
Is there a dead-man switch on the remote? If the remote operator would become in-capacitated, does the Ventrac continue on indefinitely and possibly do property damage or run into a lake?
@13falseidentityАй бұрын
RC is used by other manufacturers as well and only for mowing machines. If with Ventrac you can use RC for all attachments it is good upgrade.
@seandurginАй бұрын
Are you saying this will allow the machine to operate beyond recommended slope guidelines?
@johnevans6053Ай бұрын
I am not sure I understand the benefit. Is it because you are operating it in conditions that would be unsafe for an operator to be on the machine? I would think it would make more sense for you to make it programable. For example, the operator would mow the perimeter of an area and have the Ventrac then mow everything inside that perimeter without any further human intervention.
@2elgnismiАй бұрын
This would be helpful for extreme hills where you’re not comfortable being on the machine but that’s about it. I would rather see a little larger footwell with room for a foot pedal like John deer uses on their compact tractors, a separate pedal for forward and reverse would be awesome.
@13falseidentityАй бұрын
Is slope performance for RC model same as for regular ones? As I understand RC should be used on very steep terrains where it is dangerous for operator to sit and manuver?
@thehailmaryproject8949Ай бұрын
Not for me, I'm hopeful the 4520 and its attachments stay available. I like the simplicity of Ventrac, this seams its going in a different direction.

I really can't think of a situation that having the remote control allows you to operate on any terrain that a experienced operator couldn't. If the machines gonna roll over its gonna roll over if you're on it or not. I love Ven Trac, They are amazing. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm honestly curious.

The main reason would be the operator doesn't get injured in the roll over in that instance.
