Ventura History High Profile Criminals and Vintage Tales from the Ventura County Courthouse

The current Ventura City Hall as we know it today, was formerly the Ventura County Courthouse. Built in 1913, it was the Courthouse, and Sherif's Jailhouse until the early 70's. There are some interesting facts in the facade design of the building and even more interesting criminals who were housed here.

Jesus Christ I never knew Charles Manson was here. I was listening to one of his songs (“look at your game, girl”) and when I saw the cover of it it showed his mug shot from Ventura I was very much surprised

the Manson story was surprising to me as well. I was researching the faces on the facade and that info popped up as well!
