I love Ventura! Spent the best time of my life thus far in that wonderful town by the ocean. I feel as though I never should have left. I miss it terribly. And yes, LA stinks.

In 1982, while I was a senior at Sophia University in Tokyo, I participated in a homestay program in Ventura for a few days. The home was situated in a suburban area, approximately a 30-minute car ride from the beach. I still vividly recall the enjoyable moments I shared with my host parents in Ventura. I wish to reconnect with them and express my gratitude, but unfortunately, I have misplaced all the photos and information I had about them. However, I do remember that the husband's name was Matthew, and the wife's name was George. Both of them were likely in their middle to late twenties and had met each other at Ventura College. If anyone has any information regarding their whereabouts, please kindly reach out to me. I currently reside in Japan.

I’m from Camarillo I lived 15 miles from the Ventura pool for the last 50 years.I live in the Midwest now to be near family. But also the areas has changed and LA is moving in. It is getting ruined, sadly. 😢

my family lived in Ventura for over 70 years (still have family there). 90% of the video does not even show Ventura. That is NOT Ventura Harbor village, That is NOT "Main st" (Thats Ojai). Casitas Lake is nearly dry, years of drought and over use for drinking water have drained it to near empty. The AI voice has most of the names pronounced wrong. If you ask for the places based on the pronunciation given in the video you'll have natives asking WTF are you talking about. And many of the areas recommended for visitation are NOT SAFE. DO NOT VISIT Emma wood camp ground. Used to be a major homeless camp and a hub of illegal activities especially drugs. Ventura is a great place to visit and has a lot to offer. BUT use caution and keep vigilant when visiting, especially on the west end. Ventura Ave (a block from the mission) and Main street (downtown in front of the mission) are simi-dangerous. Keep aware and use common sense and you'll likely be fine but it is an area to keep your valuables out of sight, or better yet do not bring any valuables to that side of town. Locked in the car IS NOT safe in Downtown or the west end. And keep an eye on your kids. Now the East end of Ventura, Harbor Village (real one not the one shown in the video), Marina Park, are all great places to visit. The Pier is about as far west as I would go (fairgrounds being an exception) Keep to the beaches east of the Pier and you should be fine. I'd avoid the "state beach" west of the pier, the Ventura River mouth, Emma wood, and beaches west of there for at least a mile outside the city limits on the west side. Those areas are.....very iffy.

Multible shots of places that don't exist in Ventura. Who paid for this? BTW, why was Oxnard included in a travel guide for Ventura???

Holy crap. This illiterate take on Ventura should be ignored.
