I’ve got to say you’re my favorite creator in the overlanding space. Figured you should know that since I find myself not commenting or liking videos every single time I watch one. Half the time I play one instead of watching tv before bed then falling asleep like it’s Netflix. You have a knack for film making. Not sure what you did before this but you’re pretty good at this. No wonder you quit your day job. Also I appreciate that you’re not pretentious like so many of these creators are. You’ve grown into your position with the opportunities you’ve been given rather than assuming the role like so many others. Great job dude! I look forward to your videos.

That is my biggest fear. Being from a different nationality, in the middle of the mountains with no so friendly people. I always have my gun next to me, but it is not fun to be on guard all the time. And no all states allow to cross borders with guns.

Awesome video as usual, I look forward to every one. Now, people....i could not agree more. We have a cabin in NW PA. Exactly 1 year ago this week, i got complacent. I was standing out front on our property, admiring the quiet, the beautiful fall leaves and a stranger came walking up the drive. At the same time, a second and third stranger stepped out of the trees to my right. Complacent....the sidearm i would normally be carrying was in on the kitchen counter. Call it luck or good fortune, these guys were very polite and respectful.....i wont ever tempt fate again though, lesson learned, thankfully, not the hard way.

@@Venture2Roam I always carry on long, remote trips. Also bear spray.. the last time in the Owyhees it wasn't people. It was a badger.. One on one, face to face..At the hot springs. I didn't have to spray him... but he had me cornered. In the late afternoon in the canyon, hearing this whistling. I thought it was birds at first.. Badgers! The west bank crew vs the east bank crew!

I was last up there in September 2021. After my dad had passed. Just needing time and space to regroup. I drove solo down into the Three Forks area and camped for four days. I never saw another person/vehicle the whole time that I was in there. It had rained pretty hard on the morning before I got there. I almost didn't take a chance on doing it by myself. Glad that I did! Pretty much stock 04 Toyota Tundra 4X4. There was one fresh set of tire tracks going in. I figured somebody was in there. Wrong.. Whoever it was, forded the river and wheeled up the west side.

If I came across something that needed to be reported or confronted we would have done that. But I’m not out there to investigate what other people are doing…that’s a good way to create unnecessary conflict. I just bought a Mohave (v6). How necessary is it to have a 392 as you and others seem to have ? Is the V6 as capable just less efficient ? Love to hear your opinion and love your work.
@Venture2Roam
@Venture2Roam Күн бұрын
It is completely unnecessary to have a 392. It’s like saying you need a corvette to go buy groceries. It’s a total luxury car, but it’s a heck of a lot of fun to drive. The Pentastar 3.6 is a GREAT engine. I have the 3.6 in my JT Mojave and it’s been super solid. Also had one in my JK…super solid.

Excellent video! In your opinion, is Birch Creek Ranch accessible with a stock 4WD F-350 from the direction you climbed out?

Dropping into birch creek from the main access road is definitely doable with a F-350!
@Venture2Roam
@Venture2Roam 3 күн бұрын
It really depends on tires size and clearance. The Birch Creek crossing is deep...especially during the Spring and early summer. We were on 37s and 38s and were fine, but it was Fall. Obviously you have the the power and weight to get across...really just a matter of traction/clearance. If you do go, make sure you go with someone else, or at least have a winch...that's an expensive truck to get stuck in a river! ALSO - I'm tracking down the person at the BLM office who can tell me whether or not these crossing are allowed. I always thought they were, but it seems to be a gray area. More to come on this.

@@NvFlyAngler I agree with Will. The water crossing could get dicey…we’ve met folks that say they’ve done it in stock rigs, and my wife has driven it in a stock gladiator with 34’s.

In my opinion, omitting specific details about individuals’ actions can inadvertently create unnecessary fears and apprehensions. If I understand your intentions in creating videos, it is to encourage people to explore through “Overlanding.” However, I believe that this video, while informative and entertaining, creates uncertainty and apprehension for the same audience. In the future, I recommend providing a more detailed explanation to alleviate any concerns. I have a strong belief that no one was murdered or harmed, as such an event would have been reported on the news and you would not have posted it. Nevertheless, these are my thoughts.
