I’ve got to say you’re my favorite creator in the overlanding space. Figured you should know that since I find myself not commenting or liking videos every single time I watch one. Half the time I play one instead of watching tv before bed then falling asleep like it’s Netflix. You have a knack for film making. Not sure what you did before this but you’re pretty good at this. No wonder you quit your day job. Also I appreciate that you’re not pretentious like so many of these creators are. You’ve grown into your position with the opportunities you’ve been given rather than assuming the role like so many others. Great job dude! I look forward to your videos.

Awesome video as usual, I look forward to every one. Now, people....i could not agree more. We have a cabin in NW PA. Exactly 1 year ago this week, i got complacent. I was standing out front on our property, admiring the quiet, the beautiful fall leaves and a stranger came walking up the drive. At the same time, a second and third stranger stepped out of the trees to my right. Complacent....the sidearm i would normally be carrying was in on the kitchen counter. Call it luck or good fortune, these guys were very polite and respectful.....i wont ever tempt fate again though, lesson learned, thankfully, not the hard way.

I never saw another person/vehicle the whole time that I was in there. It had rained pretty hard on the morning before I got there. I almost didn't take a chance on doing it by myself. Glad that I did! Pretty much stock 04 Toyota Tundra 4X4. There was one fresh set of tire tracks going in. I figured somebody was in there. Wrong.. Whoever it was, forded the river and wheeled up the west side.

@frontierstateoverland38163 күн бұрын
Dropping into birch creek from the main access road is definitely doable with a F-350!
@Venture2Roam3 күн бұрын
It really depends on tires size and clearance. The Birch Creek crossing is deep...especially during the Spring and early summer. We were on 37s and 38s and were fine, but it was Fall. Obviously you have the the power and weight to get across...really just a matter of traction/clearance. If you do go, make sure you go with someone else, or at least have a winch...that's an expensive truck to get stuck in a river! ALSO - I'm tracking down the person at the BLM office who can tell me whether or not these crossing are allowed. I always thought they were, but it seems to be a gray area. More to come on this.

I haven’t published this one yet…it’s part of a larger project that will likely be done in 2025.

Water crossing wasn’t that bad. It wasn’t above the bottom of the doors. JS 😊

Silver city citizens makes you feel so unwanted. Which is weird for a thriving tourist attraction.

They’ve always been nice to me..but I’ve heard stories like that from others. I have been there when it’s completely overrun with ATVs and when it deserted…I much prefer it deserted.

In my opinion, omitting specific details about individuals’ actions can inadvertently create unnecessary fears and apprehensions. If I understand your intentions in creating videos, it is to encourage people to explore through “Overlanding.” However, I believe that this video, while informative and entertaining, creates uncertainty and apprehension for the same audience. In the future, I recommend providing a more detailed explanation to alleviate any concerns. I have a strong belief that no one was murdered or harmed, as such an event would have been reported on the news and you would not have posted it. Nevertheless, these are my thoughts.

Isnt the Birch Creek Ranch river crossing illegal? Ignorance is not an excuse and can result in access being eliminated.

@Venture2Roam what channel/freqs do you guys and other off-roaders use in Oregon for comms? In BC we use 146.100 Mhz to listen for other groups requests for help, info, etc. and might use another second channel just for the group private comms.
