Dear Krishna ji, General insurance is also known as non-Life insurance or motor insurance: To become this general insurance agent, it is advisable to visit a general insurance company e.g. New India, Oriental, TATA, Bharati etc. and meet the branch manager/Development officer, then they will guide you further. Like registration with IRDA and how to write IC38 exam and all.. Note: Once you get agency from an insurance company, after that you are not allowed to change the company. Dear Ranjith, Please follow these steps: Dear Friends it is very EASY process and all you need is 10th class pass is enough. Step - 1: Visit Life Insurance (e.g. LIC of India) branch nearest to you and express your interest of becoming LIC agent, DO NOT FEAR there is no INTERVIEW. Step - 2: Just pay Rs. 150/- for registration and take FREE training on IC38 for one week at Life Insurance divisional Training Centre. It is available in English, Hindi and all regional languages including Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali etc. Step - 3: Once you complete this training your Life Insurance Training Centre will send your attendance to the Insurance Institute of India and then you will receive a IRDAI - URN number. Step - 4: Book IC38 - IRDAI exam using URN number online (www:iiiexam.org) by paying Rs 500 as an exam fee and write a simple 1 h online exam (50 marks and score 18 marks to pass). You will come to know your result immediately once you complete your exam. All state level major cities have these exam centres of Insurance Institute of India. Step - 5:.Once you pass this IC38 - IRDAI exam you will be given Life Insurance Agency Code by your Insurance Company. Now you are ready to work as Life Insurance Agent.
