Reverb tips. The Plateu reverb from VCV Rack (paid plugin yes) is available for free in Cardinal (an open source fork of VCV that runs as a plugin in a DAW) and sounds absolutely gorgeous. Also Cardinal. Free open source version of VCV rack that is cross platform and runs as a plugin.
@VirtualModular2 жыл бұрын
Plateau is a free module anyway, so it's already completely free if you use the standalone version of VCV.
@cholst12 жыл бұрын
@@VirtualModular Sure, but my point was that the VCV VST version is not free, whereas Cardinal is a free vst version of Rack. (if you only want to run plateu as a send effect in your daw for example)
@VirtualModular2 жыл бұрын
@@cholst1 ah yes, that's true. I bought the Pro version to support the developers and mainly still use standalone anyway. But Plateau is well worth running as a VST send FX so that's a fair point.

Seeing you work with these plugins makes me want to try to get over my problem with DAWs. I find that if I introduce a computer into my workflow, it completely kills my creative momentum. It's not any specific software, I get this with Ableton, VCVRack, even recording with Audacity can just stop me dead. I'm not even sure what it is, maybe it's because I work with computers all day. I love my modular but damn I could save a ton of money if I could just use plugins.
@gooneybird8082 жыл бұрын
Ableton has a max device that can randomize any midi cc message as well as detect and list those messages without manually putting them in. you can turn off randomization to any parameter such as volume, which, to me, is why I think its pretty gosh damn sweet.
