I made the mistake of being in love with my best friend for 5 years. Over those 5 years she ended up dating all the male guys in our friend circle (a total of 4) and I always was there to comfort her. After highschool she switched phones and moved to another town and I never met her again. Had a crush on a guy for 3 years, one of my most serious crush if you could call it that lol. I usually get over crushes pretty quickly when I decide to end it but it took me over a year to get over him, just last year actually. He was intelligent, nice, talented, and just a decent human being, we had a complicated relationship for most of it due to my social anxiety and insecurities, became friends for like 3 months at the end then I made the decision to stop because it was too painful for me to be around him, I also didn't know what to do with my feelings that wouldn't go away even after I got rejected. We had a suprising amount of things in common, our paths weirdly aligned for no apparent reason than a bunch of coincidences. I cried a lot but I don't really regret it, made me realize I wasn't really ready for love, learned that I needed to grow and improve a lot more about myself and that I can be quite a bitch when I'm upset, it was nice while it lasted though but it was probably for the best that we went our seperate ways. But it was certainly memorable took up a pretty decent chunk of my high school years, if we met on better terms while I was more mature maybe we could have been good friends even but life goes on and I think I'm better off not crossing paths with him
