It should be the same for rap battles too because these guys don't have the same punches as others do on this stage. 90% of the rappers that go up on thier stage are not battle rapping. I shouldn't feel like I can do the same thing is my point. I do rap. And I ain't shit compared to Telly or Pep. But so many others fill up slots that get more recognition for mean rapping with empty bars. The one dude actually used the others guys name like 3 times..that was it. The rest had NOTHING to do with the specific person in front of him. Nothing special or clever was said on either side. And that's often on this stage. Again. There are monsters that come out on that stage but again they don't get the reactions and or the time that others do. I literally get upset mid battle because mean rapping about how you're the best rapper is not battle rapping. That's just rapping. Battle rapping is flipping the others guys name, doing research, roasting thier appearance. Any of that should qualifys as battle rap because i as a viewer or audience memeber can distinguish that they're rapping about the human standing in front of them.The rest should be set-up. And 90% of the battles are just mean rapping about how they're the best which is the same as writing a song and then just rapping in front of some guy...I'm not just here to criticize like a got it better. But you know would be able to do? Qualify my rounds as battle rap because I had atleast did my research, tried to roast the guys appearance and try to flip his name. This is easy battle rap tactics. Not rocket science. Watch the Pep vs Telly battle. That is an actual battle

Gave on the other hand had some serious bars and was talking to him with some serious presence.... This is battle rap with a beat... So riding the beat, ⏸️, is part of it... Gave was definitely acing the assignment....
