Here is my solution Agar "following" nhi likha hota(challenge jaisa ki aapne kaha). Question is more logical than quantitative...here is the solution:- For 120 rs 3 denominations 2, 5, 10 Let's concentrate on 2 first :- Observation 1 :- The coin count can not be such that the amount coming out of rs 2 coins can only be divisible by either 5 or 10. Or else it will never total to 120. Observation 2:-The total of 2 coins can never be divisible by 5 because it's an odd number. Hence the 2 rs coins can be 5,10,15.... like that. Let's concentrate on 5rs coins now:- Observation 1:- since no other denominations can compliment the 5, 15,25,35 ... amount to something divisible by 10. Hence rs 5 coins can only be in even number 2,4,6,8.... Let's concentrate on 10 rs coin: Observation:- check the options all are even numbers So till now we see 2rs coins are 5,10,15... and 5rs coins are 2,4,6,8... So (5 rs coin)even number+ (10 rs coin) even number+ 2rs coins has to be odd number = so that the total is 25 which is odd number. Hence 2 rs coin can be 5 or 15(cannot be 25). SCENARIO 1:-So if we assume 2rs coins to be 5 then it will be 10 rs meaning 20 coins should total to 110. 10x+5y=110(remaining amount) X+y=20(remaining coins) Answer 1:- x=2 and y =18 Hence ONE SOLUTION is :- 10 rs coin = 2 5 rs coin = 18 2 rs coin = 5 But 2 is not in options. Hence 5 coins of 2rs eliminated. Scenarion 2:- 15 coins of 2 total to 30 Hence other equation becomes 10 x + 5 y= 90(remaining amount) X+ y=10(remaining coins) Solving you get y=2 and X=8 Hence Second SOLUTION is :- 10 rs coin = 8 5 rs coin = 2 2 rs coin = 15 Hence the answer 8. Option D No hit & Trial needed. Straight Direct answer.😊
