There is over a hundred orangutan sanctuaries and thousands of zoos and every single orangutan in these places does not get counted into the orangutan population for if the did the truth would come out that orangutans are thriving in captivity. In zoos and as pets orangutans live into their 60-70’s on average. In the wild orangutans live into their 30’s. They live longer as lets and in zoos because they are happy. Orangutans can eat the healthiest food in the world but if they are stressed out they don’t live as long. If orangutans are happy just like people do, they live a long time. So the wild is not the best place for orangutans.
