This set of compositions were written in a period of less musical activity after Aida and before Orfeo his last opera. During this period, he dedicated himself to the composition of small musical works of religious nature. Each of the four components (Ave Maria, Stabat Mater, Laudi alla Vergine Maria and Te Deum) were composed in different periods and added together, yet they represent a masterpiece of harmony and incredible beauty that only a genius such Verdi could have composed. It’s a set of compositions with a sensibility that touches us deeply and as a catholic raises me to levels of religiosity sometimes unknown. The orchestra and its direction and the choir are fabulous. Viva Verdi and his unequaled and divine music. Thanks for this remarkable recording.

¡Quedé estupefacto! Nunca había escuchado esta obra, pero me di cuenta que perdí mi tiempo al no oírla nunca. Esos cambios de matices/dinámicas, de motivos y la escala enigmática del inicio me llevaron hasta el más glorioso éxtasis espiritual. Sin duda una pieza muy hermosa.

"L'Orchestre national de France dirigé par Daniele Gatti interprète les "Quatre pièces sacrées" de Giuseppe Verdi" !!! Et sinon, le nom du choeur qui interprète magnifiquement la pièce, derrière l'orchestre, on pourrait le mentioner aussi, non???!!!

"L'Orchestre national de France... interprète..." alors qu'en réalité ce sont quatre pièces pour choeur, dont deux seulement avec accompagnement d'orchestre !
