SHIRLEY VERRETT was one of the greatest ever...... She went from Mezzo to Soprano and switched back and forth. She was able to accomplish this like no other female singer. I cherish my Verrett recordings and absolutely venerate her. REST, well, Dear Miss Verrett.

Shirley Verrett sang both Part 1 and Part 2 of 'Les Troyens' on very short notice at the MET in the early 197'0s. It was a triumph.. She was always outstanding in her many roles. A truly outstanding singer for any era.

Great as Lady Macbeth Her facial gestures and body language is also very important.I love singers that are able to perform such large tessituras like Simionato. Sometimes they can be a soprano and others a mezzo. I m not surprised about the long ovation.Very good election. And of course,you ll love the part of Macbeth with one of uour favourite baritones... Davvero oh. Meli soprattutto è come il prezzemolo, lo trovo dappertutto; Don Carlo, Un Ballo, Ernani. Due produzioni di Ernani nel 2022 (Opera di Roma e Maggio Musicale Fiorentino) e tutte due con Meli. Un altro no eh? Pare brutto.

Quelle lubie de mettre tout en rapport avec la Callas et ne pas pouvoir se sortir la Callas de la tête. Il y a eû d'autres interprètes qui ont été magnifiques dans ce rôle : Léonie Rysanek, Elisabeth Connell, Birgit Nilsson, Grace Bumbry, Renata Scotto, Gwyneth Jones, Raina Kabaiwanska, Christa Ludwig, Ghena Dimitrova... Il serait temps qu'on déloge la Callasmanie du répertoire lyrique. L'ovation pour Shirley Verrett a été plus que méritée. Quelle merveille!

This is a case of Spain's classic singing LaTonadilla For ages critics have been talking about who was the best singing it. Until.one of them with good criteria said.I can tell who sings it best.But it doesn't coincide with who moves it best.In this aria in particular you have to step very strongly...The idea of the cape is very important because it helps her develop the part immensely.And How she moves it.. You should sometimes consider these things plus the fact that a mezz sorano for me is the ideal tessitura.
