im doing independent highschool right now and find your videos help me alot. Although learning is subjective i think most kids appreciate when teachers convey there rational and steps in a visual whiteboard style. Thank you for uploading :)

so with regard to the specific issue of proving trigonometric identities, the basic approach is to 1,) combine the side with more terms: 2.) Assess the other side, if it contains tans, or cots, or not. 3.) if no -> Convert all tans and cots on the working side into sin/cos and cos/sin 4.) if yes -> Leave the tans and cots on the working side, and write sin/cos and cos/sin as tan and cot

I still don't understand how you're able to multiply the top and the bottom by cosx
@brianmclogan7 жыл бұрын
as long as you multiply the the same number you do not change the value of the fraction 3/4=(2/2)*(3/4)=6/8

@jneal13476 жыл бұрын
I just think of it as converting the tangents to get [(-sinx/cosx) *(cosx/1) /[1-(sinx/cosx)], then converting the denominator's 1 to cosx/cosx and multiplying across to get: [(-sinx*cosx) /cosx] /[(cosx-sinx) /cosx]

Hi. So I am pretty good at these. But I have a question. I know it’s kind of late lol but is it okay if we work with both sides as long as we make them look identical. So if I were to make tan x in terms of sin x/ cos x and then just algebraically work it out so that both sides are equal… can that work? I don’t know… because that’s how I usually do it… let me know!! Thanks
@karimiberouma77054 жыл бұрын
Hi sir! is it okay if we multiply it with the numerator, instead of the denominator? bcoz in our module, it says either to multiply it with the numerator or denominator :)

Not sure if you still need it but if you're referring to when he converted to the tan to sin and cos its because tan = sin/cos

@mark_tilltill66644 жыл бұрын
Start out by converting to sin(x) and cos(x) using tan(x)= sin(x)/cos(x)

@@takeone_do I'm really sorry for being late. Making a KZbin video isn't easy as I imagined. recording the video , trimming , editing ...... in addition to the stress and the tension I felt ( this is my first video ever ) , and my low internet upload speed ... all that took much time and that's why the video came late. I hope you enjoy the video :)
