It's a very modern metal album, that brings back the classic feel without giving up the amazingly beautiful modern production quality. I don't understand a single word of the language, but I understand and love all of it. The emotion is raw and pure My favorite album of 2022.

Did she just casually drop the best folk metal album that I know of? Yeah, I think she did. I'm actually fangirling over this gem here. Seriously though, it's such a brilliant balance of the "beauty and the best" with many more imaginative and captivating melodies that no part feels like a mere filler. It's basically the creme de la creme of Katkyt taken and expanded into a whole album of its own. I'm really impressed and I love this so much. Can't wait to see her visit the UK, I'll make sure to be there when she does

I personally prefer Enslaved's "Eld", Windir's whole discog (quite a different style though) & Bathory's Blood Fire Death/Hammerheart. But this is decent too.

Holy shit... Dark times, brightness from dark music. "Ruskassa revontuli raivoaa". That's pretty fucking amazing line right there. I got heavy Native American vibes, specially from the title song. I don't know that what is it with us Finn's and the Native American people, but some of us feel so deeply conected to the Native American culture heritage, that there even has been efforts to establish reservations for life style "indians" in here. The Native American feeling is also present in many Finnish hit songs - go figure. She and BlackBraid should hit their drums together. *Great* stuff, poetic.

We all have earthly roots. Our ancient pre-colonial, pre-Christian, Pre-Abrahamic ancestors were all animists. We all had familial pantheons, with gods and goDESSes, with similar origins. Aside from linguistics, cultures, and physical features, were all the same.

@@CH-rs7cm Yeah... I'm not one for spiritualism. To me it's all practical and evolutionary. I have also studied some cultural anthropology, so my approach to congruences between people is a bit more scientific and cynical side. I think gods are subjective, to me for example they have never existed. I think our spirits live in us and turn to ghost to those who get left behind, as in living entity becomes a memory after death.

Amazing album, just like the first one. I'm glad I follow her work ever since the before the debut came out. The 'folk' parts on this one reminds me of Ensiferum on first two albums, and some other Finnish bands with 'that Finnish sound', like Amorphis, etc.

This is really good! I've listened to it several times now and it doesn't get old.. Truly a great piece of work. It's going to obviously draw comparisons to the Myrkur project because of the whole "one-woman black metal/pagan" thing. However, Myrkur has always rubbed me the wrong way and I've never been a fan of her. Seems very fake and disingenuous. This however is the opposite of that -- pure and soulful, and perfectly captures the essence of pagan and folk metal, blends it eloquently with black metal and the beauty of the female voice. Definitely a new favorite
