From what I've heard of skaven lore in some cases, very rare cases they are a sort of daemon prince of the horned rat whem a lord of decay ascends.

@@kagetoshin9761 the Great horned rat doesn't need lesser demons because with how many skaven exists there is no room for them anyway. what is needed is generals able to match up with the others faction's big hitters. as for chaos Spawn the hell pit Abomination fills that roll, if not literally very much functionally.

A thing worth noting:Among the skaven the invoking of a verminlord is only preformed in the most dire of circumstances when no other viable options remain. The Grey seers,warlocks and sorcerers with knowledge of the spells that draw the attention of a Verminlord upon them use them with some degree of unease and fear as they know the creature they are about to unleash upon the world is way more powerful and wicked than they could ever be in their wildest dreams.

Verminlords? More or less Greater Daemons of the Great Horned Rat. Kinda like Bloodthirsters in terms of physical power with a bit of Lords of Change with the magical power, cross that with plagues and diseases from Great Unclean Ones and you basically have a Verminlord right there. See I’m convinced that verminlords are demon princes of the great horned rat, given that we don’t know where they come from, and they operate often of a will of their own which isn’t typical of demons of a chaos god. Then again I could be wrong there and the Horned Rat could be chaos undivided made manifest, this his demons are hard to control. But since we know Skreech Verminking is a council of 13 who was put into a single Verminlord I don’t the demon prince theory likely.

I can see these being added into the game. Maybe they'll adopt the Warriors of Chaos Daemon Prince mechanic by allowing certain Skaven lords to prove themselves as "worthy sacrifices" to summon these to replace the lords. The specific Verminlord could also depend on the faction, such as Eshin, Mors, etc. Either way, super cool and another well made video

Each of the clans do have a dedicated and named verminlord they could add as LLs. It's weird that a lore video about verminlords didn't even bring up the shadow council of thirteen. Clan Eshin has a verminlord deceiver called Lurklox

So for a while I thought the Horned Rat was an extention to one of the four Chaos Gods like Nurgle. That is until I found this thing that stated that the Horned Rat is a literal threat to the Chaos Gods and while I'm not sure if this actually happened as I was only told this recently by a friend but supposedly during the End Times the Horned Rat became one of the most powerful Warp entities in Fantasy even "killing" Slaanesh and battling Korne and Nurgle to a standstill. Note this friend of mine is a hardcore Skaven fan who hates Slaanesh so he might be over exaggerating since he knows I like Slaanesh as well as Nurgle the most. Now I am curious if the Horned Rat is a culmination of all 4 of the Gods conjured by the Skaven, a singular representation of the Ruinous Powers made manifest in the Warp by their unending worship and insane numbers as it seems in Warhammer the more followers of a belief there is the more potent and powerful the entity representing that belief becomes. Skaven are near endless in number so maybe that's why this God is growing in power so fast.

The horned rat was a minor choas god til the end times but the end of which he took the place of slaanesh in one fell swoop as one of the 4 main chaos gods, he called it the great ascendancy.

It's not too surprising because they also barely believe in the beastmen aside from the occasional gave being born. Scaven and beastmen are basically a part of history for the living men in the lore. Attacks are rare, and on isolated people with almost zero possibility of survivors to tell the tale. Scaven and beastmen are basically just folktales to the imperials until the end when all hell breaks loose and it's too late.

u along the right idea. he embodies aspects that both nurgle and tzeentch represent which is also why tzeentch hates him so much. it is also said that the skaven technically represent all aspects of the chaos gods, so the skaven indirectly help the ruinous powers.
