I use to go see Vern at the West Texas Country Club on the corner of Stewart Avenue and Cleveland Avenue in Atlanta on Wednesday night's in 1985.............there will never be a male country singer who can touch him. They don't call him the VOICE for nothing. I miss u, Vern.

What a song. There is simply nothing being written like this anymore, and it kills me. I’m not a child of Vern’s era, as I’m 33 years old. I was born the year this was released. But I yearn for more country music like this. I sing and play guitar, and would love to carry the torch, but where do you find songs like these now?!
