Fun Fact: In the Kirby Light Novels, there was originally just one Waddle Dee. This Waddle Dee acted as Dedede's subordinate and Kirby's close friend. In the novelization of Kirby Battle Royale, the Printer that created Kirby copies was used to make Waddle Dee copies beforehand to assist with the tournament. With so many people running around that look just like them, the original Waddle Dee decided to wear a blue bandana and went by "Bandana Waddle Dee."

So here are a few points that Vernias missed out on because I absolutely adore Bandana Waddle Dee and because a weird talking penguin sent me here: - Bandana Waddle Dee's first appearance wasn't in the remake of Super Star, but rather in the original version since he's the first contestant in the Megaton Punch minigame - Bandana Waddle Dee plays a massive role in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse as he's a playable ally who along with two clones will fight alongside Kirby and Elline - Bandana Waddle Dee is the only other playable character in Forgotten Land in co-op mode and will actually feature in the cutscenes (hence why he was present in the ending) - In Kirby Battle Royale, Bandana Waddle Dee is Kirby's partner in the story mode and even has his loyalty to King Dedede tested - Bandana Waddle Dee has canonically defeated King Dedede and Meta-Knight on 3 separate occasions, though he fought alongside Kirby - Bandana Waddle Dee is a top-class Navy Seals and was involved in multiple Al-Qaeda raids with over 300 confirmed kills

Waddle Dees are just such good lads. In lore it seems like their species is subservient to anyone who provides them the hospitality. They may be pretty weak outside of Bandana Dee but no one can deny how effective they can be at a job (or at least a job that doesn't involve guarding or taking out Kirby.

Waddle Doos are interesting as the waddle doo in Kirby 64 is the only example of a waddle dee becoming a waddle doo and that waddle doo doesn’t even use a *beam attack* so I don’t think the other waddle doos are dark matter possessed waddle dees. However what is peculiar about waddle doos is that while they have an association with King DDD through there association with association with waddle dees, they also are heavily associated with Kracko as Kracko summons them in most fights with Kracko and only in Kirby Epic Yarn does Kracko have mini Kracko variants that they summon to fight Kirby. This is the only example in Kirby that I can think of an enemy having an association to two separate bosses. I like to imagine King DDD and Kracko have arguments over who gets ownership of the waddle doos.

Great video, love to see some spotlight on these adorable enemies. When it comes to the sectra dees, in the Queen sectonia fight when she brings you onto the jewel platform she summons three types of sectra dees that give you fire, ice, and electricity when absorbed. Also Bandana dee actually appeared in Megaton Punch in the original superstar and then reappeared in the remake with the revenge of the king segment and replacing the arena dee in the arena.

Waddle Dees are underrated. Nobody ever talks about how they're just as iconic as Kirby himself, and show up FREQUENTLY in promotional art and advertisements, basically a secondary mascot for the Kirby franchise. This is why Bandana Dee DESERVES to be in Smash Bros. He's _much more_ than a Goomba with a hat... If Piranha Plant got in to be representative of well-known iconic grunt enemies, then so should Bandana Dee.

My headcannon is that waddle doos are waddle dees that went to kracko to undergo that transformation that makes them stronger, but shortens their lifespans, leading into my other headcannon, kraco originates from dark matter.

While you could say these traits are limited to parallel Kraco, it still implies a few connections between dark matter and the real Kraco.

I have a head canon that the Waddle Dee that travels along with Kirby, King Dedede, Adeleine and Ribbon is actually Bandana Waddle Dee before he got his trademark bandana. The reason why I say this is because when Kirby's Return to Dreamland came out, Kirby and Dedede joined forces on their adventures again and along with Dedede was Bandana Waddle Dee to join King Dedede on the adventure just like one singular Waddle Dee did in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. I think he is honestly the most loyal Waddle Dee to King Dedede and in the past Bandana Waddle De has grown respect for Kirby for rescuing him from Dark Matter which explains why he tries to be helpful to Kirby on his adventures.

The little baby is upset because it is being teased by another waddle dee riding the metal general ride. The feet stomps are too adorable. Holy. I have never seen so many waddle dees in one place. However, skimming over Rainbow Curse was a grave mistake. There is 2 separate Waddle Dee characters for player 3 and 4: Green Bandana Dee and Yellow Bandana Dee. People think that they are just reskinned clones, but descriptions of the characters in the figurine museum gives them their own personalities like yellow being more Sheepish, and Green being more of the silent type (I think). This means that they are not clones but their own whole characters, and not just clones
