They shut down melee tournaments because they were using slippi which gives melee online matchmaking. They do care about stuff and there is a chance that they will shut this down just like project M.

@@jamesshdas2475 Don't worry, we've done our research. Since we're modding the game, that means any events involving CE can't be sponsored by Nintendo. The Big House was the only tournament to get shut down, stuff like Frame Perfect Series and other online tournaments are able to use Slippi just fine because they weren't sponsored. Nintendo has only taken down fan projects when they conflict with an upcoming release, so CE will be safe until KF3 comes out, and that's about as likely as you think. So you'll be able to play CE without much issues!

When they start adding characters, I just want my boy Tournament Legal(TM) Marx to be in. Really, any of the Dream Friends not already included would be sick. Actually, giving skins/alts to Dream Friend characters would be awesome as well. Gooey with a Dark Matter skin would be sick.

7:52 - I know it sounds dumb, it truly does, but if they're adding new characters, they should add normal Kirby. You heard me right. Hear me out. He could be a grappler in that he can inhale and spit not only enemies from a distance (through Inhale, and after several seconds, Super Inhale), but also projectiles (like the Gem Apples) which turn into stars upon leaving his mouth, but could also do stuff like grab enemies and projectiles out of his mouth and either throw or double jump off of them a la Kirby 64 (throwing on stance will be Return to Dream Land's item throw, but running and throwing will be Kirby 64's throw, while simply pressing up while having a foe in hand could be the up throw from Kirby 64), and use the Normal Beam from Kirby Super Star and Kirby Star Allies (it's used to delete partners) as a short projectile aimed at both sides. Perhaps inhaling more projectiles in one gulp will also make him bigger a la Kirby's Blowout Blast and turn his stars into Blaster Bullets, as well as allowing him to hurt foes just by jumping and landing on them when he's big enough (in Blowout Blast, he can break rows of Star Blocks doing this, so it's probably gonna hurt). I feel there is potential to make normal Kirby viable in a fighting game. It just hasn't been given a proper chance yet. Bubble though. BASED CHOICE. ABSOLUTELY BASED. And Mirror too. BASED.

Fun fact! Making Wrestler and Suplex separate is actually an idea we threw around early on before labbing in Star Allies, Planet Robobot, and the other modern games for who would be cool additions. As of now, we're not doing it, but there's a lot of other super cool stuff we ARE doing and you should definitely join the KF2 server to see it all!

I feel like Animal, Magic, Spider, UFO, and Needle for Abilites could definitely have some potential. While for Buddies I feel that despite being partially a stage hazard, the Animal Trio could be good, along with (heavily nerfed from SA) Marx and Dark MK. I would really like to see Axe and Mace Knight as a playable debut in this game, as I am still salty about the unplayable Axe Knight skin from Battle Royale. Sleep, Bubble, and Mirror would be cool to though. I'm just making potential ideas. But I would genuinely love to see at least a few of these. These have been ideas in the back of my mind for a while now. I even have a idea for what a full Sleep moveset would look like lol. Nonetheless, I never knew that the game could be modded like this, and I do look forward to seeing the finished product. Good luck to you Community Edition modders! And have a good one everyone! We have honestly been considering quite a few of the abilities you mentioned for being playable in the future but of course nothing is set in stone (I'm personally a big supporter of Bubble, Spider, Needle, and we've even talked about Axe before). Adding new content to the game after we're done balancing is something we (or at least I) really want to do so I hope we can do that in the future!

Honestly, for abilities, i'd want Leaf or Circus, I love Leaf to death & it would even funner to use if put in a fighting game like Kirby Fighters 2. While for Circus, I don't like it that much, but the fact that Archer, Beetle, & Bell made it in but not Circus so we would have all the abilities that debuted in Triple Deluxe, feels like another Waluigi situation, plus it has some very nice combo potential.

Sword has some very cool changes! They weren’t shown in this video, but their entire kit was made faster and their hitboxes have been made far more consistent! They’re honestly a blast to play now.

Ideas: Bomb: bomb drop on midair should have increased propulsion into the air for Kirby the first time you use it. Mashing attack on the ground could have Kirby alternate between arms to throw bombs at a faster rate than normal. What if there were different reasons of bombs Kirby could throw, just like how rock has so many forms. IE: grenades, cocktails, c4s, watermelon bombs, ETC. Cutter: what if you could cancel the dash attack into final cutterat the cost of no slash beam at the end. What if final cutter had a true final attack where Kirby does a final jumping Diagonal slash onto his foe. Beam: how about a full rework

I have now come up with an entire new moveset for bomb just for the fun of it. B: bomb prep B during bomb prep: bomb throw Hold B during bomb prep: precise Bomb throw. Down during bomb prep: bomb lay. Mash B: rapid bomb throw, Kirby rapidly throws various types of explosives at random angles, all of which explode on impact but are slightly weaker. Dash B: bowling bomb. Hold up during bowling bomb: soccer bomb, rather than rolling the bomb across the floor, Kirby kicks the bomb in a low arc which explodes on impact with anything. B while crouched: remote bomb. Remote bomb after remote bomb: remote detonation. B in midair: Pyrotechnics, basically the exact same thing as the fire-bomb ability from Kirby 64. Down B in midair: air strike, Kirby throws down a warhead style bomb which explodes on impact, this move propells Kirby upwards the first time you use it in midair. B near opponent: bomb set. Mash B near opponent: Kamikaze, Kirby preps three dangerous bombs on the opponent before pulling out a huge bomb with a "soul melter" expression on his face and slamming the bomb onto the for with a beautiful explosion. This move is bombs most deadly move, but it will hurt bomb Kirby too.

@@blueandthecrew Fun fact about our design process actually, the thing that determines whether or not a character needs a new move is where they have gaps in their moveset, or if their playstyle is uninteresting enough (Beam) to warrant getting a new move to spice things up. When we add new moves, we ask "what does this move do that this character doesn't have?" and "how can we easily implement this without new animations?" We don't have any animators on the team so any new moves have to use animations, or parts of animations that already exist in game. For example, one challenge we faced was that Parasol didn't have any moves that hit up, so they had a massive hole in their kit. I don't want to spoil how we solved this problem, so be sure to stay tuned on CE updates in the KF2 Discord, because soon enough, you'll see our solution to this, along with other examples of our approach towards new moves when we're ready for our next trailer! discord.gg/kf2

If you're a Bomb player, I think you'll really appreciate the Bomb changes! Your command grab now always sends the same directions, you can set a Bomb while holding one, and all your moves do extra damage as a cherry on top! Dedede also got really nice buffs, having a real invincible reversal, and being able to use Hammer Throw as an actual projectile. If you want to give either of them a try, the mod is on gamebanana right now, and there's a bunch of resources linked for modding your switch, setting up Yuzu, and installing the mod!
