First I gotta say, This replaced a Whelen 3016 that broke in 2017, and there is even a piece of the 3016's pole next to this 4004 with a power meter. The 4004 runs fast wail for 3 minutes, then voice in 4 directions. It activated a bit late, and I was messing with the camera a lot while arlington heights' sirens were sounding because I thought I was late, but it was really the siren (probably the dispatcher fell asleep and decided to activate the sirens late so it is really the dispatcher, not the siren). I arrived right at 10AM, but the 4004 was not sounding and I heard Arlington heights testing their sirens. I even started to think vernon hills' system failed, but then at 10:03, it activated! The echoes were insane there, which the camera did a good job of picking up. What was reaIly cool is that i could feel the sound in my body...It actually could be because it is mounted low. Only about 30 or 25 feet off the ground. I think this is the only 4004 in Vernon Hills that has a 560Hz contoller. I bet there is more, which you can hear it faintly echoing after this one finishes a set of voice at some points. I planned on using my drone to get an aerial video of the siren, but I was in a huge rush so I totally forgot about the drone and wanted to get some what of a footage of this awesome siren for you guys! Hope y'all enjoy this 4004!
Sirens in Vernon Hills and most of Illinois are tested on the first tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM (unless the dispatcher falls asleep and wakes up late to the point it us useless to test sirens! Lol!)
