I've been to this gorgeous city. It's really beautiful, especially by the river and the famous Ponte Pietra. What I did find sickening was the way tons of delusional females leave padlocks and notes on a modern day building with its balcony thinking it's Juliette's, who NEVER EXISTED! She is a FICTIONAL character, NOT REAL! Yet, I saw many females carrying on as if they were in Juliette's house, making fools of themselves. Which is why so many Italians are laughing so hard at these tourists! I do not blame them, I joined in.
@Barnyz3 жыл бұрын
thanks for watching. I agree its a stunning city. As for the Romeo and Juliette myth... I guess humans have a long history of believing in what they want to believe no matter if it really exists or not!
@gaia72402 жыл бұрын
The story is actually based on real events, but yes tourists can be very disrespectful, they used to stick chewingum to ancient walls
@mibelloaleman2 жыл бұрын
@@gaia7240 The story is NOT based on real events! What is your evidence that it is? You must know something that the rest of the world doesn't know! The story is based on the writings of an English writer. There were feuding families in Verona all the time but none feuded over 2 lovers who wanted to be together. Feuding families fought each other over politics, not 2 lovers! That's why they built many towers simply to compete with each other. Siena and Firenze fought for many years and Firenze exiled Dante to Verona simply over politics. So what is your evidence that it was about a couple? I know there is none. Why do people make statements without having the FACTS??? What I would like you to answer is why Italians don't respect their monuments, not to mention the moronic tourists who have absolutely NO RESPECT for these beautiful monuments. They definitely don't know what history is involved in these monuments. There is nothing more hideous than ignorant, stupid people, especially those who never pick a book!
@mibelloaleman2 жыл бұрын
@@Barnyz Thank you for your intelligent comment because it is exactly what I see globally. People are really stupid and gullible and refuse to believe in the FACTS, SCIENCE AND HISTORY (at least verified history). They are so uneducated, refuse to pick up a book, refuse to research the FACTS, and instead go on social media platforms and make an ass of themselves by saying really moronic statements. I visited the so-called Juliet house and I know for a fact that the building is a modern building (very late 19th century) purchased by a man who wanted to make it a tourist site. So he made it look like a medieval, early Renaissance building and added the balcony and called it Juliet's house for ALL THE GUILLIBLE, ILLIRATE TOURISTS! The Italian tourist board actually confirmed this for ne and told me to keep it quite because they are making a ton of money regarding this racket of theirs. It is disgusting to know that there are people, who are taking up space on this planet, could be so stupid as to believe there was a Juliet, they even bought into the bullshit tomb of hers! This so-called tomb was also fabricated to give credence to the "story," as well as "Romeo's" house (no Romeo existed). I went to see this building only to get a good laugh, and I did! Btw, the males accompanying their girlfriends were laughing at them behind their backs. It confirmed to them how gullible their girlfriends were.
