A recent release by Alexandre J, Imperial Peacock, is in a beautiful bottle embossed with greenery, suns, and of course a peacock - even the cap is embossed. I agree with everything you said about Sonnet, but I do find that the top notch is the perfect gripping spot for the thumb making it easy to grip, point, and spray. My favorite beautiful and functional bottle is J’adore - the curves are gorgeous and it feels so good in the palm of the hand. Also in the they-could-do-better category along with The Dua Brand is Indult - at $220 for 50 ml of Tihota I expect more than a basic bottle with a cheap label. #sorrynotsorry 😊 P.S. Agree. I got my bottle of Tihota after pre-paying on a wait list and it just toppled out of crushed paper in a box and resembled a drug store or even worse, a clone fragrance. I was distinctly underwhelmed. Being ecologically responsible and offering luxurious packaging are not mutual exclusivities in 2022. I was so underwhelmed and I'm glad you mentioned the Indult presentation and indirectly, the general customer service experience. You've no reason to be sorry: you're spot-on. Also, the performance of Tihota is not great. I'm sensing that it's not the 'greatest vanilla of all time'. It sits so close to the skin and then dissolves from all airspace within a couple of hours. For the price point....? The jury's out over here ;).

Bottles are important to me, too. It's about the whole experience related to perfume - olfactory, visual, tactile. Those that are pleasant to hold, beautiful to look at and smell amazing are my winners. That's also why i avoid decants and samples where possible, or try to use them up asap. One of my most beloved triple threats are Bottega-Veneta Knot Absolue, Fendi Furiousa and Angel Mugler 2020.

Those Borouj bottles you mentioned are stunning! I really enjoy the bottles for Van Cleef & Arpels (Orchidee Vanille, California Reverie, etc.), Trussardi Donna, and Jour d’Hermes. The list goes on and on 😍🤩 I’m a sucker for a nice heavyweight glass and cap! Those Dua bottles are bottom of the barrel, if you ask me! 😂

What a sensational idea for a video!!! Double thumbs up. This is such a juicy and compelling subject which is so rarely covered in videos and online forums. My own two pence worth: I loved the original Fort & Manle bottles and was startled to see that the new 're-launch' of this week included not just new fragrances but entirely new bottle designs. The older bottles are hard to beat for my tastes (they were perfect for the brand concept itself too-- genius) but the new bottles are GORGEOUS. I can't wait to try the new range of fragrances and see if the re-launched favourites of mine remain unchanged in formula. I would pull the trigger on Bojnokoff in a heart beat, despite the extortionate price hike, but after the Mousse Illuminee debacle I fear the new batch will be altered horribly and I just can't risk the expensive disappointment. Not heartbreak, but definitely a fine hairline crack in my heart. The other beautiful bottles I adore and covet with glazed, dumbstruck eyes is the exclusive 'capsule' collection of Agonist fragrances in those magnificent glass vessel 'sculptures'. They remind me of Maurice Marinot's work and that's always a good thing. I'd love to own them all. I'm not familiar with the Agonist house but with vessels that beautiful, who even cares if there's fragrance inside? Ha! Again, terrific video Veronica. One of my favourite topics of show'n'tell discussions. PS= Plume Impressions 'Rivalite Imperiale' is my great passion this year as I think I've mentioned in comments past, but I'm convinced that the high pricepoint is due to the hilariously over-engineered packaging; the bottle comes in an ostentatious 'presentation box' which can be displayed or used as a photo frame. I had to roll my lips together quickly in order to halt a loud laugh from bursting through when it was shown to me. Honestly, they could take it down a notch and drop the price by 50 quid and that would be a far better aesthetic and economic move. Beautiful fragrance though. I also love vintage Lalique fragrance bottles but I also love the idea of ultra tacky kitsch and 'lowbrow' art! I'm so with you on that. I'd get such a kick out of more bottle designs that are exactly as you said; so flamboyant, so exuberant and so unselfconscious about being kitschy, high-concept pretention. Bad taste? Can be such fun (my wardrobe is testament). Even a wanna be 'high concept' fail can turn into that kind of 'so bad it's magic' type of art which you mentioned being enamoured by, unable to look away. Much agreement, yes!

So fun! Thanks for the scentertainment, Veronica. It doesn't have to always be about the notes and the performance - the vessel can be, as you say, an important part of the experience. I love my Delina bottle; it's so smooth and heavy and the cap is so pretty. As far as ugly bottles go, Ryan came home with Moschino Love Love, which is a gorgeous citrus scent (everything Light Blue should have been but TOTALLY wasn't), but the bottle is completely plastic. It's not unlike the "what in the Barnum and Bailey Circus is this?" vein. I think the Barouj bottles are gorgeous, and I need to get my sniffer/hands on some Afnan, too. It's always just such a treat for me to hang out with you and talk ALL things perfume. xo

Hi Veronica! I'm here for the fragrance content as well as the entertainment!! You broke out some true beauties in this one. One of the houses that stands out the most to me is Argos Fragrances. Their bottles look like works of art, so elegant, so much detail... you almost don't want to use up the juice because the entire presentation just screams "luxury"! But they also smell so good that spraying them on isn't a problem in the end. Triumph Of Bacchus is my top choice, and my wife is enjoying Pallas Athene. On the other hand certain bottles come off as too gimmicky, and they have turned me away from wanting to try out the scents that they hold. Moschino Toy Boy (yes, you called it!) and Paco Rabanne Phantom - I'm looking at you!....or rather looking away! Phantom & Nicki Minaj need to square off, and both the winner & loser get a re-design! And I have to complain about those anti-ergonomic atomizers on the Mugler A*Men line. You shouldn't have to mutilate the top of the bottle in order to get it to spray correctly! But that wasn't enough to dissuade me from picking up Pure Havane and Pure Malt. I'm sure that I would also struggle with "Uomo" if I were ever in front of the camera! LOL

Thanks for this funny and interesting video. I think the bottles are important. If the perfumes are amazing it is so satisfaying eben the bottles is outstanding too. I like the the Lalique Amethyst bottles, the Valentino-Lines and the Aqua Allegoria bottles. I like the Jo Malone bottles, they are nice and simple. Most Middle Eastern perfumes are was to much, but it is like a guilty pleasure....

My most beautiful bottle is probably one that I bought recently, and I bought it because of the bottle because I had heard nothing about the scent. It's called Ajwad my Lattafa. It's like a beautiful multi colored mosaic on the front. It's so pretty, and the scent turned out to be amazing as well. My gaudiest might be my Eternia. I don't know that's a tough call. In my opinion all the bottles from Thierry Mugler are great and special. I love the bottles from Xerjoff, Guerlain, Penhaligons and Chanel too. I don't like the bottles from Dua, they look cheap, but the fragrances are gorgeous

Sooo , I found niche perfumes kind of by accident lol ... I was looking for swatches of a new lipstick line and the reviewer said... these remind me of House of Sillage lipsticks and I was intrigued , so I google searched and fell hard for the bow cases to start and then fell down the rabbit hole of obsession with niche scents.... I'm distracted by glitter and love the HOS bottles Batman 💕 Mickey 💝(best bottle I own and love the fragrance), Love is in the air 💝 Passion de Lamour 💝 and hands down my fav lipsticks now too !💖

There are fragrances I have no desire to even smell because of the bottle! I bought the Orientica Amber Rouge because I couldn’t yet spurge on BR540 but decanted it into a bottle I bought on Amazon. I just couldn’t take that shiney cage! You mentioned the Dua bottles, but I think the Julianna’s bottles are very nice for an inspired fragrance brand. AND I’m sorry but I hate the alien bottles! I know I’m in the minority but don’t even feel like smelling them. ❤️🇨🇦

Lalique has some really beautiful luxe flacons that are super expensive and worth looking up. Too expensive for my tastes but certainly gorgeous. The Louboutin red bottles are also gorgeous.

I AM ALL FOR GAUDY BOTTLES ! YES ! 🤩 Okay, I don´t have it, but the Selena Gomez bottle, the one with the flowers, I think that one is weird... but i want to get it 🤣 Salvador Dali bottles too, they are weird but beautiful and artsy... for the ones that I own, you know it´s the mermaid, flatfish, spaceship, Desirade!!! hairspray and yes, SHOULDER PADS!! 🤣 and Tocade... probably the most quirky bottles I own... don´t even get me started on Le Femme... omg i can´t even... I just bought Layali Swiss Arabian because of how the bottle looks. Banana Republic bottles are simple and classic. The ugliest one I have is Hot by Beneton. The sonnet bottle looks similar to Christian Louboutin bottles.

I love the Libre bottle but the cap is so cheap to me. I had a little left in my lady million bottle and decanted it. I hate the bottle 😄 i love JPG's bottles and the Armani Prive bottles ! Here in Canada (Toronto) the weather is finally beautiful and only a light jacket/sweater is needed.

Guerlain makes some of my favorite bottles. I particularly love their bee bottles, and the original Shalimar Initial bottle. The Aqua Allegoria bottles are really beautiful, too. The Nicky Manaj head bottles are crazy looking as are the Police skull bottles. I have not smelled those perfumes, but I don’t think I would enjoy those bottles. They are not for everyone.

I don't like super tall bottles because they're hard to store properly. If I can't store it on its side to keep it dark and cool I will decant and rebottle it. Otherwise what's more important to me is the fragrance. Never kept a stinker because it had a nice bottle. (Not naming names here though...)

My favorite bottles are from Aerin and the liquor collection from Kilian. Gaudiest are for sure anything Cacherel (Loulou bothers me the most with that 80s mall color combo), Moschino, and Nicki Minaj. I think anything with a body is super tacky, including JPG, KKW, and Billie Eilish. I can’t get over how cheesy they are.

I love classy, art deco types of bottles, L for L.A.M.B. perfume, with that big gold cap hiding most of the ombre rainbow glass bottle! The classic Chanel Bottle, The blue TARDIS or whatever it was Lou-Lou used to come in before the genie bottle...the big hefty globes of Poison! Yes...But I can't stand fussy add ons like tassels and ribbons and chains. And a tacky bottle definitely turns me off. I'll probably never try what's in that cheap looking shoe bottle 😒

So, I am both sorts of people you mentioned. I HATE gaudy bottles, but sometimes I like a little something something. I hate the Good Girl line of bottle, Decadence is awful to me, as well as Yes I am line. I have this thought to put on the top of my scent shelves a composition of Good Girl, Yes I am and Decadence, flanked by the Queen and King skull bottles of Police. That would be so ugly would be pretty. Other than that I love JLos Still bottle, Lalique Soleil is a beautiful bottle.

At the risk of sounding like a weirdo (I am), I have passed up on so many fragrances because I absolutely detest the bottles e.g Juicy Couture, Armaf, Montale etc. As my fragrance collection has grown any bottles I no longer deem aesthetically pleasing enough to be on display I put in a drawer, I use them buy they stay in the drawer.
