Dear Veronica, I have got a decant of Feve Gourmande and I wore it often in December. So cosy and wonderful! As far as I know Guerlain never gives a discount on the private line 😭. Last summer I was in Paris with my husband and I bought Soie Malaquais in the Dries Van Noten Shop. They were so nice and we had such a good time, so the scent always reminds me of Paris now. I think you should get the one that reminds you of your trip to Africa for sure.🙂 I think you are right about all of the flowery speech in the descriptions of the fragrances, to see if at least one word will grab you. Words create images, and images imprint in our minds. If I were to buy a special birthday treat for myself, I think it would be Angelique Noir by Guerlain. Reflet sur l'okavango is a masterpiece. It's one of the very rare fragrances I gatekeep in my collection. Nothing smells quite like it. It lasts long and projects without being too much. Two other loves from the house are : Cri du kalahari (if you love woody) and Ghibli (sweet honey leather)

I love GUERLAIN Feve Gourmand. At first I didn’t think it had much lasting power but after giving it a good full wear one day, I hung my clothes up on a door rack. The next day I could still smell the Feve on those clothes in such a lovely way. I really enjoy it. Also, I purchased Patchouli Paris with a gift card I earned through the Capitol One shopping rewards, When I went into the store to pick it up, I couldn’t resist the Feve Gourmand and they had the gift card promotion going on so I earned a $100 gift card back which was helpful for me. I think when Saks does the 15% off sales it does apply to this collection. Worth trying. (I adore it… no regrets). Next on my list is the Cuir Beluga.

Hello Veronica! Gourmand Coquin was on my wishlist forever so when Fève Gourmand came out, I closed my eyes and bought it 😣. I asked a friend (who went to Europe for vacation) to get me Soie Malaquais to save a bit of money. I believe Selfridges’ price is lower but their shipping costs is ridiculous!!! But yes, you’ll be able to get a discount on it when Saks, NM or Bergdorf Goodman have a sale. I feel the same way about Guidance 46, I’m not sure how long I will need to wait or can even wait for a discount, but it’s #1 on my wishlist now. 💗💗💗

I would get the Guerlain, such a classic and so unique. There is a reason it still exists, albeit a new name. The others may become available later at discounts and you already have Guidance, it’s not that different. I have a decant of that one and it will last me forever because I can only wear 1 spray. By the time I finish with it, I may not like it anymore or it will be at discounters. I’ve found that I have too many fragrances at the moment and it’s overwhelming to think of finishing anything up. But I’m looking forward to hearing about your next milestone purchase!

Definitely go with the Feve. I bought my mother Coquin years ago and paid way more for it as I recall. A similar dupe is Call Me By Your Name by Julianna's Perfume, way less expensive and is usually sold out. Chypre Extraordinaire was the most expensive I bought for my mother. Every drop of that is worth it in my opinion. Others differ in opinion.

As the saying goes, “It’s all relative,” which can be applied to pricing in the world of perfume consumerism. Yes, for some people the cost of these perfumes would equate to a car payment…but, damn, they would smell so good while watching their vehicle get repo’d 😅! For me, these perfumes are at present financially out of my league but that’s okay. Personally I would have to be irrefutably (how’s that for an SAT word of the day?) in love with a particular fragrance to be willing to pay for it. With that being said, if financial circumstances were to improve and the opportunity arises, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a perfume as showcased in this fabulous video (looking at you Feve Gourmand 👀). I mean, I was floored about the average pricing for Tiziana Terenzi’s Atlandtide in one of your ‘Spring Floral Perfumes 2024’ earlier last year 🤯. However, as long as a perfume brings one joy then, awesome sauce, go for it girlfriend😊! It sounds like you’re really sitting on the fence with Guidance 46; perhaps allowing a little more time to really sit with the scent profile then ask yourself if you really like it or absolutely love it, this may help with your decision (?). Regardless, I hope you get everything you wish for and more on your very special birthday! 🎉

I love love love Ghibli by Ella K. It’s is super simple and yet super beautiful and lux. It doesn’t bother any one and very enjoyable. I just love the simplicity and how easy it is to wear. I have been eyeing it for a while and recently Venba had a great sale and jumped on the opportunity. It is giving my nose a break from the heavy winter perfumes. Personally I am getting a Guerlain . Cuir Beluga or Oud nude. It has to be all weather wear for those prices and they are going up 15 percent in Feb. Hokd off on the Neige and Guidance as it may be repetitive until you finish your other bottles .. heheh at those prices. On New Year's Eve, I bought a bunch of decants (there was a sale) of Dior Privee fragrances that I will be testing out over the next month or so. We shall see what might be full-bottle worthy. I'm really on the fence about buying the big bottle of Coromandel before the next price increase at Chanel. We shall see on that, as well. I did buy my 2nd bottle of YSL's Babycat for myself--and got my daughter her own bottle as a combined Christmas/birthday gift. I didn't know she wanted it, but I was able to pick up several bottles of Botegga Veneta last spring and gave her one of my bottles. Her face when she opened it was funny..."how did you know I wanted it?"...because it wasn't on any list.

Who knows how long it will take me to get through those 10mls? Not anytime soon. My opinion on Barenia has changed although I have a 30ml: it literally hurts my nose right now 😳🤧😵‍💫 Soleil Neige EDP same same. Literally feel pain smelling it 👎🏻 Decisions, Decisions 1st world problems eh? 🤔

@ thx for asking….sense of smell actually never left, it’s the sinus pain and headaches that are the issue. Saw a lot of different doctors this week, and although I don’t have a diagnosis yet we are eliminating conditions so that is good. Some perfumes I can wear right now and some I just can’t. Trying to limit my perfume wearing overall ‘cause the nose is just hurtin’😵‍💫☹️

Happy Birthday! I can can only speak for myself, but if I were deciding what to get, I would only get one. Maybe the most expensive one, or the hardest one to get, and that way you will have a scent memory with that one fragrance with one milestone birthday.

Hi Veronica. I purchased the 200ml of Gourmand Coquin in the bee bottle right before Feve Gourmand was released. No regrets from me since I don't have many chocolate scents. Finding a bottle in the discontinued 75ml might be more affordable than the current 100ml and the scent itself lasts forever.

I ordered the dries van noten discovery set for $70 from their website, and if you purchase a bottle within 45 days, you can apply $70 off to your order of a full bottle of fragrance. Just a thought, if you decide to get soie malaquais! Camomille satin isn’t in the set, but they let you choose two additional samples at checkout, and I chose a sample of it. I actually loved that one more than soie malaquais.
