Might I suggest "Minority Report" (2002): Spielberg directing in a *very* unique style (showing that he can pretty much do anything), starring Tom Cruise. Some bits don't quite work. But shockingly, the scenes that were great in 2002 are still great. It's aged very well.

On the night of the TV finale, my mom sliced her finger open when the glass that she was washing broke. She said it probably needed stitches but she and my dad didn't want to miss the finale so she wrapped it tightly in a towel until the show was over. Afterward, the cut seemed to have closed so she just put a large bandage on it. It left a noticeable scar and for the rest of her life she referred to it as her Fugitive finger.

One of the great things about this movie is that it is based on an old 60s TV show called The Fugitive. Each week had our hero trying to find out who killed his wife, and just narrowly escaping the pursuers - this movie could have been made up of several of those episodes. It really gave you that same feeling. Nicely done.

Another interesting fact that many people may not notice throughout the movie is that the timeline in the movie is not happening within a week or 2. It's actually been a few months or maybe even up to a year to hunt Kimball. In the original 60s tv series, Kimball was on the run for 4 years. So they actually took the time to hunt him. But because it's a movie, so they had to compress it. Keep up the good work.

They didn’t say it because it’s not really based off of that case. The only aspect of the movie (I’m not sure about the TV show because I’ve never seen it) that they took from the real case is the bushy haired description he gave. However other than that there’s nothing in the movie that even comes close to correlating to the real life case.

I was in highschool when "The Fugitive" TV program was on. It was a favorite among my generation. It also parallels the real life case of Dr. Sam Sheppard, who was convicted of murdering his wife in 1954. Sheppard was sentenced to life in prison as his attorney filed appeal after appeal. Dr. Sheppard's attorney died in 1960 and the soon to be very famous attorney F. Lee Bailey got the case. Bailey was a fantastic attorney before he ever became famous and took the case to the Supreme Court where he managed to get a new trial by the mid 60s. The Supreme Court cited several irregularities in Sheppard's first trial the worst being a biased judge that did not sequester the jury when there was an obvious "circus like atmosphere" regarding the whole case in 1954. The trial should have been moved to a different venue and the judge should have recused himself due to conflicts of interest......Hmmm that sounds awfully familiar. Dr. Sheppard gets a new trial and F. Lee Bailey rips the prosecution's case to shreds. Dr. Sheppard is finally a free man but his nightmare wasn't over. He had lost his surgery skills and gave up medicine. He was denied claims that his rights had been violated by the State of Ohio so could not claim damages. He started drinking heavily and died at the age of 48. Both of his parents committed suicide after the first trial as did one or 2 others that were closely tied to Dr. Sheppard and his wife. In the 1980s another man was convicted of robbery and murder involving other cases. Richard Eberling had done some work for Ethel Durkin prior to her murder and robbery. As it turned out Richard Eberling had also done some odd jobs for the Sheppards. His blood was found at the home but he explained it as being from a cut while washing windows. Eberling was dismissed as a suspect as the police and the prosecution all focused on Dr. Sheppard. One of Marilyn's rings was found among Eberling's possessions. The Fugitive TV series all took place during Dr. Sheppard's second trial and the movie version came out when all the evidence pointed to Richard Eberling as the killer was exposed. Eberling died in prison in 1998 and may have confessed to Marilyn Sheppard's murder to a nurse. The creators of The Fugitive TV series and the movie THE FUGITIVE all deny that the Dr. Sam Sheppard case had anything to do with either one. What do you think? 🤔 The final episode of the TV series was the most watched program in history up until that time. Everyone was glued to their TVs.😮😊

This is such a great movie! Tommy Lee Jones plays the authoritative, capable, chief-type really well, and they wrote him as a great antagonist -not a bad guy, just someone who gets in the hero's way. Great to see the two really intelligent characters try to outsmart each other and get ahead! For a really different type of character for Tommy, you can check out Hope Springs, it's a quirky comedy from 2012. Tommy Lee plays opposite Meryl Streep, they are an older couple whose kids have grown up and left the house, that's all I'll say here. Lot's of heart and some solid awkwardness, but the two fantastic lead actors make the characters feel really real. Definitely worth a watch in my opinion, though probably wouldn't get a ton of views on KZbin. Thanks Verowak!

I would definitely watch your LOST reactions if you haven't seen it and some day decided to react to it. I hope those references mean you love the show. If that's the case my only hope; maybe one day you can partner up with a friend for LOST reactions who you know to be screen-smart like you and would be really invested in the show. You could join and guide that friend in the crazy LOST journey, of course without spoiling anything. Most good LOST reactions on KZbin had one person who've already loves the show and seen it multiple times as chaperones, because without them the blind reactors occasionally or maybe even frequently miss many good details or fail to make required plot connections which kinda takes away the reaction pleasure. I believe you'd be a good LOST chaperone. Please take this into consideration :)

Classic example of why reboots don't inherently suck. Good movies are good movies. Doesn't matter if it's a reboot or remake! And a reboot isn't an excuse to make bad movies. And goddamn I miss adult action movies! Early 2000s still had some good ones, but they've sure vanished since the MCU took off. Sure the leap was a gamble, but he's gonna get killed if they take him back into custody anyway. "Doesn't seem like a convicted felon, huh?" Gotta disagree here. I've made friends with ex-cons and they've always been wonderful humans. Doesn't seem like a man who wantonly, cruelly, violently murdered his wife? No. XD But even then, sometimes monsters can be kind, compassionate, and warm too. Basically it's best to not assume. Which is what a good investigator needs to do anyway. We lost Andreas Katsulas too young. Most people remember him as the one-armed man, but to the rest of us he's beloved sci-fi actor for Babylon 5 and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Glad you enjoyed all the suspense! One of my favorite movies. ♥

😎👍 A little more trivia: Obviously what you see going over the falls at 13:53 isn't Harrison Ford, but a dummy. The brass at Warner Brothers gave the crew instructions to retrieve the dummy afterwords, thinking it would probably be worth something at auction. Well, that didn't happen. The thing was completely destroyed. 😄 All they were able to find was the head and one of the legs. The rest of it is probably still at the bottom of that river. 🤪 A really good but largely forgotten Tommy Lee Jones movie is "Black Moon Rising" (1986). He basically plays himself, wisecracking his way through a bunch of action sequences in his usual sardonic manner. 😉👍

I actually re-watched it shortly before the film came out... The actor who plays Marshall Newman was in "Under Seige" with Tommy Lee the year before.... Harrison's Limp was real..... He injured himself during Filming and refused to get it treated till after the movie wrapped.... The Train Wreck was created running a real Locomotive into a bus..... (Staged Wreck)..... Tommy Lee Jones won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for this movie.... if you want to see Tommy Lee Jones's best performance, you have to watch him, along with Robert Duvall in " Lonesome Dove". one of the best mini-series ever made!

Harrison Ford starred in a film, Presumed Innocent, where he plays an attorney accused of murdering his mistress. Similar vibes, but it's a courtroom drama.

That's a fun one, isn't it? Thanks for sharing this with us, Verowak. I enjoyed rewatching it with you! Ypu might want to add Witness (1985) to your list too, another Harrison Ford cop movie, It's pretty good too.

There was lot of improvisation because the shooting script was still being rewritten while in production.

"The Star Chamber" (1983), could be cool. Legal thriller with Michael Douglas and Hal Holbrook.

Thanks for saving my evening with your calm, collected reaction and intelligent commentary (as always) of this great movie. I just watched another reaction on another channel of another great movie and they weren't paying attention, missing everything, were making stupid jokes and laughing and constantly talking over the dialogue and action and then complaining about not understanding... Luckily there are good reactors like you, so thanks. :) This is a good nineties action thriller with a great cast. Going with the pursuit mystery theme, I''d recommend the Bourne movies (especially the first trilogy).

Hello Miss Verowak!😊 So, there was a TV series years ago that inspired this film. Then, this film inspired a new TV series and a spinoff film with Tommy Lee Jones called "U.S. Marshalls" (1998) where Jones would reprise this character again. I always thought the motive for Kimball in this film was ridiculous. He was a well paid doctor that didn't need insurance money.😉 You mentioned that too, right after I typed it.👍🏻 To be fair it is not the U.S. Marshalls job to solve crimes. They deal with the Witness Protection Program, Prisoner Transport, and of course Fugitive Retrieval. Yeah, the original plan was to kill Richard to get him out of the way. His wife would be considered collateral damage. Great reactions to this action thriller, Miss Vero!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻You just mentioned U.S. Marshalls.😊 Probably when I think of TLJ, I think of "Men in Black" (1997).😉

If Vero were to become an assassin, one or both arms, her victims would be Vero-whacked.

Jones forgot the line and just went with "I don't care!" and lucky for us the director was smart enough to use the improvised take for the movie.

Another Harrison Ford movie I like that is a crime/thriller/drama is Frantic (1988) which takes place in Paris.

Now you should watch Wrongully Accused. A parody of this movie starring Leslie Neilsen.

You managed to cut out almost all of the iconic lines. "Well shit, sheriff. I guess I'll take over your investigation." "Listen up! Wyatt Earp is here." "Why don't you think me up one of those donuts with sprinkles on it. As long as you're thinking." "We've got a gopher." "He done did a Peter Pan right here off of this dam." "Every farmhouse, henhouse, doghouse and outhouse." "Big dog is always right." "That's hinky." "Because I don't wanna get shot."

This is such a fun movie... False accusations/wrongful charges are a real problem though... And even though it's a movie based on a 60s TV show it's also based on a real case from the 50s. ...Just wild stuff.

Tommy Lee Jones is also good in the sequel US Marshalls and in No Country for Old Men.
