This is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in any show. Henriette begging to live 😭😭 "Let me live. Please. Let me bathe in the lake, feel the sun. Let me feel the sun upon me. Oh Lord, receive me. Can you hear that? The flowers, they're singing."

This historical drama series had the most moving music of any series that I have ever watched, and I am nearly 45 years old. The breathtaking cinematography, the stunning visuals, and this music just blew me away. The death of Henriette, the scenes with Chevalier and Phillippe, the music moves me so emotionally on all levels. This was truly a masterpiece.

When I listen to this soundtrack, I already feel tears just by thinking of Henrietta. I think that, although Philippe didn't love women, he was badly affected by her death. I don't know what this feeling was but there was something !
@LXSTDANIEL7 жыл бұрын
I mean not in the normal sense, but I think he did love her. The way he reacted says it don't you think?
@eugeniegene15897 жыл бұрын
DanielSJ D I agree with you. However, I feel that Philippe loved her in a way that can't really be explained. I mean, when you hear Louis and Philippe talk about their childhood, they talk about their time spent with Henrietta as a childhood friend (the story of the fort and of the Spanish Topaz). As Henrietta dies, Philippe is facing not only the death of his wife, but also of his childhood friend. He loved her in his own way (the real History tells that Philippe loved Henrietta the week of his wedding and then began to hate her for her relationship with Louis the XIVth). I agree with you anyways, Philippe loved her ... in his own way ! :)

This track is so beautiful and was perfectly fit for Henriette's passing. I was so disappointed in how the show overused this track for Philippe's scenes in season 3. It kind of diminished that connection to her. Granted, she was his wife, but I always thought of it as HER song.

I cry when I think about it and I cried when she died. It's a heartbreaking scene and her death has been with me throughout the series and brings me to tears every time. She didn't deserve to die, not like this, as she begged not to die before she died and not to die a nice death bothers me and I have to think about it. in addition, Ludvík and Filip both loved her in their own way, at least it seemed that way to me, but I'm sorry that she was forgotten so quickly in the second series. I know they did it according to history, but it comes to me soon, she was my favorite character, she was so sweet, innocent, and I think she really loved Ludvík, unlike other lovers (at least in the series). Somehow I can't get over her death even if it's just a series character, so I'm a bit out of it, maybe it would be nice to talk to someone. But just that last scene, Henriette was just an amazing character as was the actress who played her so well.
