Okay so this is my interpretation of what this may be about: So at the start, the woman is lost, vulnerable and seeking something, something she can't find within herself, then the male comes and she's no longer lost, he lifts the blindfold and she'l thinks she's found what she's been searching for in the dark for so long. He then betrays her, and leaves her vulnerable again, putting the blindfold over her eyes once more. She thought she had found what she had been missing but she hadn't. She's once again lost. Then she begins to work within herself to find happiness and find clarity in her solitude. She then manages to find the strength to lift the blindfold herself as she has found inner strength, (perhaps that's what she was searching for all along?). At the end the group of people are all of the males past lovers, and through his abandonment they all found strength within themselves. They all manage to face him, clearly seeing him for who he is, the blindfold no longer blocking their vision. That's just my interpretation, it's a very beautiful piece ♥️♥️ Edit: Wow thank you for the likes guys! 🤗
@whatshouldmynamebe44196 жыл бұрын
i agree on everything except the end. i think that the group of people are people in her life that she couldn't see that existed or that came after she became more independent and self-conscious, after she realizes that she comes down and sees them by pulling off the blindfold

My interpretation: at the beginning she was lost, the blindfold represented the fact that she wasn't comfortable loving herself, when someone loved her and taught her love that blindfold was removed, then he left her. She went back to her own ways as she had only ever experienced love when it was through someone else, not herself. Then she had faith in herself, she realised that to live sometimes it might just be you and in order to remove that blindfold we all subconsciously have we need to expose ourselves to life. This removed the shield over her eyes. The people below her didn't have blindfolds on either, they'd found self love too. ^ that's just my interpretation lol I loved the performance, it was just something else !
@DiabolicalAngel4 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with this take! Also, and it may have been too quick for most to notice, the guy appears to return- he is seen on the right (back to us) and she appears to remove the blindfold and stare him down.

This literally showed up while I was sitting in my dance studio - I asked myself how could it be that I had never seen this before? But immediately realized it showed itself to me at precisely the right time. I am crying. Sometimes we have to lose everything in order to truly find ourselves, and I’m so grateful she was surrounded by support when she found the strength to remove the blindfold herself. Dance has only ever been my way through and to be witnessed in authentic reemergence, especially after being discarded, is so important.

This is so beautiful. Reminds me of my own journey into spirituality. Searching for love in the dark. Met someone who changed everything. Then he left me. And through that process I have slowly learned to love myself through a lot of struggle. The people in the back at the end remind me of my spirit team who I now know are always with me. Only when I learn to fully love myself can love in another return. Such a gorgeous, artistic way to express this. Had me in tears. Thank you 🙏

Ok, but can we also just appreciate how awesome this is? She did that entire ariel silks performance blindfolded. That means she practiced so much that she could do that with the blindfold. It takes a lot of trust, dedication, and skill to be able to do that in the way that she did without messing up. She cannot see what she is doing, and yet keeps going in spite of any errors she might have made. I dont know about you, but that just makes this even more amazing to me.

this is absolutely GORGEOUS i've lost count the amount of times i've re-watched this and showed it to people. i can not get over how intense the storyline is portrayed only by dance! while still leaving room for personal interpretation. truly a work of art. my portrayal of it is: ((long!)) when it begins shes out of a relationship and is left broken by it, she reaches out for solace and the man comes and attempts to console her. she is apprehensive at first because of how her previous relationship ended but when he holds her and shows her love she trusts him enough to take down her walls (the blindfold) but not completely, only pushing them up. at first she is amazed by how he loves her, they then work together and are perfect for a little bit but then they get into an argument and he becomes aggressive. she then rushes back to his side, holding on because she does not want this relationship to end like her last one. when he accepts her affections she puts all her trust in the man, trusting him to not let her fall and to hold her up. after he sees he has her undeniable trust, he puts her walls back up by pulling the blindfold back down from its perch against her will, at first she doesn't believe it but when he acts even more aggressive she realizes and he walks away. left searching for solace once again, she instead finds it on her own, learning to hold herself up. she repeats the actions she did when she trusted the man except this time shes trusting herself. she takes a risk and lets herself fall and realizes she is there to support and catch herself. the people that show up at the end are the people that are on her side, standing behind her in support without fully touching her because she needs to trust herself first and they watch that progress. together they stand against the man and she realizes she is strong enough to not need walls and takes off the blindfold completely.

Firstly, This was amazing! Secondly, my interpretation. I feel that this is a story about a woman who has experienced previous trauma within her life, and she has willingly, or was forcefully, blindfolded as a visual representation of her emotional isolation. When the guy comes along, he sees this broken and helpless woman and "rescues" her. She takes the blindfold off as a representation of her willingness to open up to him. In their dance together, she reaches beyond his immediate comfort/zone in search of something more than their relationship. He pushes her away because of this, but she holds onto him to reassure him of her affection, but she can't let go of this "something more" that she's reaching for. He becomes angry that she is becoming less dependent on him as an emotional crutch and pulls the blindfold, which represents her emotional growth and trauma, back over her face and leaves her on the ground in the same state he found her in. Whilst she in the rope, blinded, it represents her metamorphosis into a stronger person. She is unaware of the growing crowd around her, which represents her lack of interest for others approval in her pursuit for that "something more" she'd been yearning for. When she comes down, she removes her blindfold and has newfound personal strength and clarity. She's a completely new person. Facing down the man who was the cause for her trauma all along, the man that claimed to rescue/love her with opened eyes. In connection with the song, "Will you still love me, when I'm no longer young and beautiful" details her early stage of emotional dependency on the male dancer. The second part "I know you will, I know that you will..." tells her newfound understanding of self worth and HIS actual emotional dependence on her and his need for control. But hey, that's just my interpretation. With love, D.

Perfect. I understood the strength you were trying get across here, I’ll try my best to explain my understanding of this dance. She didn’t believe in herself, she felt she was missing something in her life, that she needed something/someone to guide her through life, she was lost, scared and alone in that big dark world. That someone/something came along (we’ll call that someone/something “HE” for now) and quickly gave her comfort and a sense of stability, opened her eyes to what she COULD have, but then left once HE was done with her or no longer needed her - thus closing her off from that beautiful and powerful world. She didn’t know how to continue on without HE so she clung to HE as tight as she could so as to continue living in that new world. HE played along with her, showing her the wonders that beautiful new world had to offer, toyed with her, used her, then threw her away like a broken toy. Broken by the betrayal, she was left feeling lost, alone, scared and powerless again. She wondered around until she finally found something that helped her reminded her what that beauty had truly been - she found her own power. And so, she danced. She danced and she soared into that beautiful world all alone, twirling around and flying high as a kite in the thrills of realization: she didn’t need HE to be who she is, she just needed to have faith in herself and remember she is beautiful and is full of her own power. We ALL are. So, what is your “HE” in your life stopping you from soaring high and free? I know what mine was - do you know what yours is?

Omg!! Every since I found this..I keep coming back to watch it again...I LOVE IT!!!!! MASTERPIECE!!!!!!! Feeling the the message behind it..(not the song) the emotion of the performance..the beauty of the dance man and woman ..then she blind sided, she thinks he's gone, then she feels him, he saves her again, she finds the beauty in the dream, he never came back, it was in her head ....and makes it blindly broken yet always graceful with strength forever. Within because of it all!!! And by all I mean symbolism. Loving the man and everything else..its a part of u..how we procees it is what's Beautiful ❤️🙏whew!! Yes ma'am..just the first words I could think to express how it made me see it. I'm Always BEAUTIFUL!!! ❤️💋♾️ Where am I going,it's not the matter...it's going to be Beautiful and fearlessly..

I used to love this so much and re watch it all the time .... recent events happened where .. I was with my partner for 3 years and I was scared to open up to him and when I finally did he left me for another woman and then I shut everyone out again ... but then I learnt to be strong as my own person and become a better person and then I realised how much my closest friends have been there for me the entire time ..... then I re watched this video and it felt 100 times more meaningful and powerful then watching it the first time ... I’m not sure if you’re gonna read this but this video actually means a lot to me ❤️

Wow thanks so much for sharing this. Your story truly lines up with the film we made. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but I'm also glad you have come out of the experience stronger. We need to find strength in life-- both strength from inside ourselves, and strength from a community that really cares for us. I'm glad you've found both.
