Brother Gary, I am Seventh Day adventist and this 1st Quarter , We aer studying Hebrew. I love the way you break everything down but in love I speak to you. You said it right when you said the sabbath was made for man. Usually , other preachers says it is for the Jews. It also says that is is a sign between God and you. "In explaining one reason He expected His people to observe the Sabbath, God told Moses: “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you’” (Exodus 31:13). Being sanctified-set apart-is a blessing from God Worship of the true God on the seventh day of the week distinguished the ancient Israelites from everyone else. God also said that worship on this day was to remind His people that God was the One who sanctified them. “To sanctify means commonly to make holy, that is, to separate from the world and consecrate to God” (International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, “Sanctification”). Being considered sanctified-separate and holy-by God is a wonderful blessing. As Isaiah 56:2 explains, “Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and keeps his hand from doing any evil.” The Sabbath: a sign and a perpetual covenant Continuing His teaching about the Sabbath through Moses, God added, “‘Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed’” (Exodus 31:16-17). Here we see that the Sabbath is a perpetual covenant. This means that it is going to continue forever. The Sabbath as a sign in Ezekiel 20 Hundreds of years later, Ezekiel recorded God’s words rehearsing this Sabbath sign: “Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the God who sanctifies them. Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths” (Ezekiel 20:12-13). This recurring rebellion continued throughout all the years between the Exodus and their exile. Israel rejected the Sabbath sign When the northern 10 tribes went into captivity to the Assyrians, the majority never returned. Having rejected the Sabbath sign, they also lost their identity and became known as the lost 10 tribes of Israel. Ezekiel wrote after the northern house of Israel had been taken captive. He recorded what God had long before warned would happen because of their sins, including Sabbath breaking: “Also I raised My hand in an oath to those in the wilderness, that I would scatter them throughout the countries, because they had not executed My judgments, but had despised My statutes, profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on their fathers’ idols” (Ezekiel 20:23-24). The southern house of Judah also went into captivity for their sins, but after 70 years God allowed them to return. They retained knowledge of the Sabbath sign, and they did not lose their identity. They are known as the Jewish people today. The Sabbath is a sign for all people who serve God But the Sabbath was not just for Israel and Judah. God made the Sabbath for all mankind. Isaiah recorded God’s words of praise for gentiles who observed the Sabbath: “Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants-everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My covenant-even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. … For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:6-7). Reflecting the ongoing existence of the Sabbath even after Christ returns to teach His laws to all peoples on the earth, God inspired the prophet Isaiah to write: “‘For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me,’ says the LORD, ‘So shall your descendants and your name remain. And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,’ says the LORD” (Isaiah 66:22-23). The Sabbath sign in the New Testament: the example of Jesus and the apostles When Jesus Christ came to earth the first time, He observed the seventh-day Sabbath: “So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read” (Luke 4:16). He described the Sabbath a benefit for all people and proclaimed He is the Lord of the Sabbath. “And He said to them, ‘The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:28-29). Jesus Christ’s apostles and the first-century Christians also continued to remember the Sabbath: “So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking with them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God” (Acts 13:42-44). “Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, saying, ‘This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ’” (Acts 17:1-3). “Imitate me, just as I imitate Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). “He who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:6). The Sabbath as a sign in the end times Jesus warned that “lawlessness will abound” in the end times, and urged His followers to “pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath” (Matthew 24:12, 20). So His followers will still be observing the Sabbath. The apostle Paul warned of the coming of “the man of sin” in the end time (2 Thessalonians 2:3). This “lawless one” will use “all unrighteous deception” to lead people to not believe the truth, but to have pleasure in unrighteousness (verses 9-12). In contrast, the apostle John describes God’s end-time followers as “those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Christ” (Revelation 14:12). The Sabbath and the Church of God Through the ages there have always been people who continued to obey God’s. commandment to keep the seventh day holy, and this practice continues to identify them today.

You then must keep all the Laws of the Old Testament if your keeping the Law of the Old Testament. JESUS IS OUR REST. ITS NOT A DAY.

That was so beautiful and well written and thought out. I am a child of Christ that worships His son every day every where. I have zero problem with 7 th day Adv. just remember not to make religion your God .Christ is the way the truth and the life. I was just reading in my bible how during the millennium and during the 7 year tribulation how the sabbath will be observed again by those on earth. Yes it’s beautiful that you keep the sabbath as long as the act itself doesn’t become a God to you

We have rest in Christ everyday. The Sabbath was pointing to Jesus giving us rest. I had a really hard time learning that. It started as a child when I asked what day was the 7th day. I mean, I was learning the 10 commandments and in order to follow the rules I would need to understand them. I was like 6 years old and of course I said why are we here on Sunday???? I was told we don't have to follow the law and since Jesus rose on Sunday we changed it to Sunday. So I believed very little of what the church was telling me after that. I'd witnessed nothing but sin after sin within the church and those claiming Christianity all around me. I absolutely believed in Jesus but I didn't think that the church, or anyone else really did so I began reading the Bible. Honestly, at first I wasn't even understanding with the thee and thou KJV language. By the time I was in my 20's I'd started using an NIV. I almost clung to the SDA denomination only because I thought that we must think similarly. But Jesus is God in flesh, not Micheal the Archangel. And I also disagree on some of the prophetic interpretations although I do find them incredibly interesting. I've listened to a Seventh Day Adventist teach for nearly an hour before he began to deviate from Biblical truth into the false teaching of SDA. I have a problem with all pastors and their dogmatism about future prophecy. That said I also have a problem with pastors who ignore it instead. Then everyone wants to make fun of ideas other denominations hold and they in turn make fun back and I find myself a church of just me and Jesus's Word and my husband when he wants. My point though is that we rest on Jesus the fulfillment of the Sabbath every single day. We don't only honor and worship Him when we're together but every moment of the rest of our lives because we are dead to this world and alive in Jesus. While we are all still looking for that Day when ALL things will be made new we have already put on the new man in Christ. We live every day to glorify Christ and no longer live for ourselves. When we work it is unto the Lord, when we play it is unto the Lord. In all we do it is for the glory of the Lord

I love everything you do and how you present the Word. I have shared your channel with many of my family that they may understand and believe in the Word. However, I do disagree with your statement that the “day of rest” can be any day of the week. The Council of Laodicea made it illegal to observe the Sabbath on Saturday so by following their “law”, aren’t Christian’s today agreeing with the past persecution of Jews? How can one obey the Canon in this instance, but not all that Catholicism has put forth since? Does that not make Christians hypocrites?

Our rest is in Jesus and here is what he said, " Do not think that I come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore, whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." MATTHEW 5:17-1 Wow, its like Jesus knew this Saturday / Sunday thing would come up and HE went ahead and made it clear what was best. Don't relax the Commandments. Mosaic law has been unchained. The COMMANDMENTS were written in STONE. Speaks of eternity, does it not? HAS ALL BEEN ACCOMPLISHED? So..... Whose example would you rather follow? GOD or man GOD rested on the seventh day Genesis 2:2 Hebrews 4:4 JESUS went to the temple on the Sabbath Luke 4:16 WHAT IS THIS RANDOM DAY SABBATH OF WHICH YOU SPEAK??? Paul went in as was his custom, and on three Sabbath Days he reasoned with them from Scripture Acts 17:2 WHAT IS THIS RANDOM DAY SABBATH OF WHICH YOU SPEAK??? Do you really think its healthy to go to bed at 9 pm one night, then 11:30 pm , then 1 am? Do you like a dis-orderly worship service - people speaking up at random times, interrupting, because this is their self-proclaimed spiritual moment when it is actually a disruption to the established beautiful orderly flow Do you think singing out of tune is as beautiful as singing in tune? The Earth was chaotic and without form GOD organized it Genesis Chapter 1 In that organization GOD established a day pattern, a rhythm and on the 7th day, He rested. WHAT IS THIS RANDOM DAY SABBATH OF WHICH YOU SPEAK??? I don't want to spend my life, spiritually or physically, jet-lagged, hung over, without proper physical rest as well as spiritual nourishment WHAT IS THIS RANDOM DAY SABBATH OF WHICH YOU SPEAK??? I will follow the teachings of Jesus any day over the teachings of man - Matthew 5

Its kind of disturbing that you would say at time stamp 24:57 - that God wants us to work within OUR schedule rather than Gods schedule (Gen 2:2) That sounds like the FALL, original sin over again - humankind thinking they have the capacity to determine what is good and evil in Gods ordered creation (Gen 2:15) and we know what the order is, don't we. Yeah, somewhere, uhhuh somewhere somewhere I remember the word REMEMBER.........the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy............................Remember
