I believe the Lord's day is the Sabbath. Man changed that to Sunday.
@vivianjenkins7706 Жыл бұрын
Because Jesus arose from the grave on Sunday, most Christians consider Sunday the Lord's day. But Idk which is actually correct.
@satrinarlord77158 ай бұрын
@susan....There is a clear distinction between the Sabbath and the Lord's Day. In the Torah (the first 5 books of the Old Testament, also called the Book of the Law), God designated the Sabbath as a day of "rest" for the nation of Israel. The Sabbath is on Saturday (actually beginning sunset Friday and ending sunset Saturday). Orthodox Jews still observe and keep the Sabbath as instructed in the Torah. The Lord's Day is Sunday. It was "established" in the New Testament and was called the Lord's Day because it was the day Jesus Christ our Lord arose from the dead. Jesus's resurrection on early Sunday morning gave birth to the Church and to recognizing Sunday as the Lord's Day. In the Old Testament, under the old covenant, obeying the Law and the sacrificial system was how the Jews "earned" their salvation, remained obedient to God. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law and gave Himself once and for all as the perfect sacrifice. There is no longer any need to observe or engage in legalistic practices (including making sacrifices and observing the Sabbath) because there is now only one way to God, and that is through a belief in Jesus Christ as the risen Son of God. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through the Son."

So appreciate your solid teaching Gary! Thoroughly enjoyed this study of Revelation! When you referred to Matt 18:20, “where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Can you please clarify, I thought Matthew 18:20 was in reference to church discipline/confrontation, since we know God is with even a single believer😊

Salvation. 34:35 Relationship is Reciprocal, We can lose our first Love, though God will not forsake us He will Not force you to Turn To Him. 35:10 We didn't lose our Salvation Here... It's Not that frivolous. But there can be a deliberate willful & intentional turning away from GOD. He also says to Repent though you have strayed far..Turn back. "Remember from where you came from."

My brother and sister-in-law have gotten indoctrinated into the SDA church and continue to focus on the Sabbath Day worship as necessary for salvation as it is the 4th commandment. I try to avoid any discussion about it because I know I will never be able to change their minds and it is causing division in our relationship. How can I respond in love as we do not agree on end time prophesy as well. My heart is grieved because our relationship has become so divided to the point I don't feel I can communicate with them except on a superficial basis. 😢
@satrinarlord77158 ай бұрын
@teresa...I used to belong to a church like that. It was oppressive, and it was exhausting trying to earn and keep my salvation by my own strength and not "backslide." . Churches that teach salvation through your effort and adherence to legalistic practices are a classic example of condemnation and works because they reject clear teaching: salvation is by grace (not works). You can "work" because you love the Lord and appreciate His free gift of salvation. But it is not Biblical to work as a motive for earning salvation. There is a clear distinction between the Sabbath and the Lord's Day. No one comes to the Father, except through the Son." Scripture also says "You are saved by grace, not by works..."). You can never be good enough or do enough to earn your way into heaven. Trying to do so is essentially telling Jesus that His death and resurrection was useless and a waste of time. It is saying to Jesus, "No thanks, I will do this on my own strength. I don't need the free gift of your amazing grace as offered through your sacrificial and painful death. I can earn my own way to heaven by my own effort and works."

Is the Rapture mentioned as such in the Bible. Is it not also true that this doctrine is Darby/Schofield in origin. Can there be 2 second comings as they taught. Surely Christ said he will come again ie once. Surely he is not having an interim stop between heaven and earth where the believers will be suspended before he comes a third time?
@misskj7773 Жыл бұрын
Really? Two separate events, completely. Paul describes and shows us the event of The Rapture of The Church. Equally, the newly raptured Church is clearly shown inside of the throne room of God (in Revelation 4:4; 4:10 and 5:9-10(KJV), prior to the opening of the first seal in Revelation 6:1-2/revealing of the antichrist/onset of the tribulation.

Why is Lords day on Sunday? Is that a man made date? This is not a controversial question, just want to know if it is on the Bible.
@satrinarlord77159 ай бұрын
Sundays' designation as the Lord's Day is not man made. It is essentially Christ made. Sunday is called the Lord's Day because Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead early Sunday morning. That is why Sunday is called the Lord's Day. The Sabbath (Saturday), established by the Old Testament Law, is not the same as the Lord's Day (Sunday), the day Jesus resurrected. The Sabbath was established under the Law. The Lord's Day was established under Grace.

If you check, it was Friday when the Lord was lead in the tomb and the women who tended to him had to leave before sunset as they would breaking the Sabbath rules. No-one came to the tomb on the Saturday but Mary came on the following g day and saw the stone had been rolled away and our Lord was risen. This is why Sunday is the Lord's day

The number seven represents completeness. In other words, the seven literal churches, spiritually represent the one complete church of God. Yeshua walks in the midst of the seven golden lamp stands communicating the fact that he is the head of the true church of Christ.
