If you try checking out his voicelines according to when they're released, and he actually sounds softer and softer each update xD Like, compare his voice when you meet him for the first time in wangshu inn, then to the cooking event with xiangling, then to the interlude quest with shenhe / the 2.4 lantern rite festival, then lastly, to his voice here. It might just be that Hoyoverse is trying to adjust his EN voice to match with the CN/JP/KR, but you can also just think of it that Xiao is slowly tearing down his walls around the traveler and I think that's kinda nice lol

my guess about why the twin is there: i think the domain is tied to the celestial needle, and has the same 'wish granting' properties - it makes ppl briefly see and believe in the illusion of what they want the most. so xiao probably sees one of his own comrade yakshas, or perhaps even the truth, while the traveler sees the happy and loving version of what they want most - their twin. it is an illusion meant to lure and trick the ppl in the domain to get them to stay longer and be 'devoured', as xiao puts it. i mean, the event is called 'hidden dreams in depths' after all!

My theory is that ‘evil’ guy with the glowing eyes is Bosacius, the other surviving yaksha. It’s been awhile since I thoroughly went through the lore surrounding the yaksha’s but Bosacius, which many including me theorise to be the 4 armed electro yaksha, was in the chasm when it collapsed. He probably got corrupted by whatever was down there, hence Xiao saying “No, if… still alive… why would you become like this?” Xiao most likely thought they died alongside the other yakshas while fighting each other when they succumbed to the karmic debt. Gah I’m so excited!! The only thing in the entirety of genshin impact that has my interest as much as the yaksha lore does is the possibly of Egyptian mythology being a huge part of the Sumeru storyline :D Edit: Wait the floor at 1:32 the symbols, the anemo coloured one kinda looks like xiao’s mask. Another hint at the yakshas perhaps?

When the update came out, to be honest I was a bit dissapointed on the amount of content they gave... But I guess I spoke too early. Holy cow, this update exceeded my expectations. The archon quest, definitely one of the best out there, and the events, it's actually more challenging than the previous ones. Because of this, I look forward for hoyoverse to continue what they just did, especially in the upcoming future updates!

place is connected to khaenria, even the millelith from 500 years ago participated in that battle (going by the world quest), i suppose the area where The Chasm was located was also another battlefield where Zhongli and his adepti fought khaenria forces and many of them perished, perhaps maybe one yaksha.

I think when yanfeis talking abt the fantastic compasses at 0:42 it’s showing the chasm at different time first when it was created since most of it is just nature, then during the cataclysm because there broken wood bems and red smoke everywhere then the chasm modern day, will we see how the chasms was in the past idk it might just be me😭

This is archon quest. Do Raiden's 2nd story quest and Itto's story quest and you can do this quest. Also unlock the Chasm.
