Followed St Kilda my whole life but a footballer who was dismissed by a top coach(Parkin) as too slow can't kick. , can't mark above his head , can't run (one leg 1.5 cm shorter than the other) who become through sheer effort and perseverance one of the greatest athletes in AFL has to be respected as the greatest AFL footballers of the 20 century, as noted by his inclusion in the AFL team of the century.

Looking back it's a marvel how much Williams achieved with smart positioning, quick hands and mostly immediate releases. Harvey's leg speed gave him options Williams didn't have, but if you look at the accolades and stat lines, it's hard to separate them as the top midfielders of their era.

Greg diesel Williams is the greatest midfielder all time, the greatest centreman of all time and one of the most skilled player of all time. rob havey is no 5 in terms of midfliders , second best wingman behind peter matera in both the 90s and of all time. One thing for sure is judd is nowhere near and all of these 3 players u will never see again as they were true footballers.

Williams wasn't a thug. He belted thugs. And good on him. Definitely the better of these two. Poor comparison. Ricciuto versus Harvey would've been much better. And Diesel versus Ablett Jnr going the other way.
