For the final episode of season 1 of my Versus Series I will be ending this season with a bang with a three way free for all with the 3 latest protagonists of the Persona games to see who would come out on top. Makoto Yuuki the powerhouse of SEES, Yu Narukami the leader of the Investigation Team, or Ren Amamiya the Joker of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts?

@@edcis Honestly, that would be the worst move Makoto could make. He uses Armageddon? Ren and Yu equip a Persona with Enduring Soul and survive with 1 Hp and then heal themselves back to full HP. He uses Infinity? They both use Light Magic attacks to get rid of the Infinity. Makoto is then left with 0 SP and is then killed by both Yu and Ren. Armageddon and Infinity is not th ebe all and end all in this VS Debate.

Pretty good, the strategy with Kurusu was something to be expected. Unlike the other two, he had more time to strategies. Thieves are always the better schemer I suppose. A pity Makoto was put down so easily. At least he went 2nd place. :P

Allow me to educate you Let Us Start the Lesson: Every appearance other than the bad manga(Mementos Mission is just better as it's not a rehash of the game which is done to death already in every persona manga, when the game is just the best way to experience that story) And various stage shows, and a lot of collaborations. Damn it! I was rooting for Yu but I genuinely agree Akira/Ren would come up a plan just to overwhelm Yu which was teaming up with Minato/Makoto (which I'm kinda salty about, I'm right behind Margaret being it was cheating 😂) If Akira/Ren wasn't such a tactician, Yu definitely has the highest chance to win being Izanagi can definitely beat both Orpheus and Arsene weakening the persona user for Yu to perform the finishing blow but it's just my opinion and I completely agree on the scenarios that have happened. Another thought that just came to my mind. If 2nd Tier Personas are essentially just upgraded versions of their initial Persona's but with a few Resistance/Weakness changes added in as well as a unique move, if we included Raoul as a canonical 2nd Tier to Arsene then Joker becomes even more powerful. If we go by this logic Joker would have access to both Heat Riser and Concentrate as technically Raoul would have Arsene's moveset. Along with also having Ali Dance which would halve any of Makoto or Yu's attacks as well as having Curse Amp which would boost Joker's Curse attacks which would absolutely devastate Orpheus. Although this is a massive stretch, Raoul isn't canon as of this time/ever will be so we can't use it lol.

He’s more proficient with his sword and can defeat a trained swordsman (Sho Minazuki) He has enough endurance to climb the equivalent of Tartarus in under an Hour. (This one gets misconcepted at times) He defeated a being that’s more powerful then Marie with the power of his bonds flowing through him. (People like to say he didn’t have any bonds on his side but he actually did, it’s a word heavy game so it’s understandable the misconception) In short he’s basically just gained a lot more endurance and sword training.

Izanagi practically counters both personas and is probably the strongest base persona out of the three in general. I think Satanael is the strongest out of the evolved ones tho.

@@adamalmahamid9949 No not really, Izanagi-no-okami not only has the highest stats out of all the evolved Personas (base 80 on everything and starts at a lower level) but in Persona 5 Royal what has all 3 of them, it's the most broken Persona in the entire game.

Personally I think even with all personas available Ren takes the victory since he has picaro versions of both Makotos and Yus ultimate personas. Which in their descriptions directly state that they're just stronger versions because they became the tricksters mask.

I know this is a 3 yr old video but I have a complaint that Makoto can’t use his persona without the Evoker. You set the battle in the velvet room. If Yu can call upon his persona which can only be done in the TV world then this means Makoto can use his without the evoker as it was mentioned in P4A that being in the TV world makes summoning them easier for the P3 cast. Additionally Joker’s props become real due to the nature of the meta verse. In order for them to fight each other and use their skills you have to combine the elements of their respective worlds. In other words, you buffed Makoto to now be able to summon his persona without the Evoker and gave him a functioning gun thanks to the affects of the metaverse. One other strategy that wasn’t used was recalling a persona and summoning it back to save their personas. Also, any clash of blades between Ren and the other 2 will result in him losing his weapon since Makoto and Yu can 2 hand their weapons while Ren is not only revers gripping his dagger but still using one hand. Lastly the scenario of Ren getting pulled to Makoto by the grapple hook on his wrist is a game over for Ren. If the device is strong enough to pull Ren around and allow him to do the stuff he does, then it’s durable enough to withstand Makoto pulling Ren around. Especially because it’s enhanced by the metaverse. Ren is at Makoto’s mercy.

Principally that they don’t know the advantages of being in a full on Metaverse as opposed to Tartarus just imposing on reality. Persona users in P5 instinctively know how to use their abilities in the metaverse as if being exposed to it grants them instant knowledge. This would apply to Makoto having knowledge of his Evoker being a functional gun. Lastly. Even without the Evoker Makoto can still summon his persona without it. The Evoker is meant to put the user in a near death mindset to essentially shock the user into triggering their persona. Being literally on the verge of death would trigger Orpheus who would come out and heal Makoto again. Being in any kind of situation where Makoto is in the verge of death would be cause enough to call upon his persona.

The seal was makoto himself using the power of the universe to let him create a seal with his life. He doesnt die if he uses messiah or the universe he dies if he uses the universe to create the great seal. The universe has two set skills one is the great seal and the other is infinite endure and with that makoto isnt really killable by base damage only reason he died was on his own merit

Yu isn’t a natural fighter in OG P4 in the Arena Games he is experienced. But to be fair Arena takes place like 2 months after P4 so naturally he wouldn't have just got those skills out of nowhere, so he would've attained it during his journey. The same can be said for Joker and his skills in P5 Strikers, it was only 4 months since the ending of P5/r he wouldn't have gained those skills out of nowhere either.

You don't need a evoker to activate a persona in persona 3 it puts the fear that gives the persona you don't need an evoker so technically makoto could have still activated without his evoker.

They do The Dark Hour was overlapped with the real world which made summoning Persona's difficult without an Evoker. You see Takaya trying it and he's on the ground in pain. It's easier for them within the TV World during Arena as the TV World is a full on proper Shadow World. In Q/Q2 they use their Evokers because that's what they're used to at that time.

Unsurprising Ren & Makoto would gang up on Yu considering out of their main personas, Izanagi is stronger than both of them. But that simply just puts a target on Yu's back. And they'd wanna get rid of him asap. In fact if they were allowed their world and universe upgrades, I think because of this, Yu would use his first.

And that would justify their ganging up on him even more since Izanagi-no-Okami is frankly busted. I mean, Angelic Grace, Heat Riser, Concentrate and Almighty Boost and that's not even getting into Miriad Truths which is basically an Almighty version of Hassou Tobi. Ren especially wants to leave Makoto for later because Messiah retains Orpheus' Curse weakness and while Enduring Soul means he still takes a lot of punishment, Raoul and Satanael both have access to Maeigaon and Heat Riser and while Raoul's access to Concentrate would devastate Makoto, Satanael's Black Viper/Sinful Shell boosted by Pagan Allure and Tyrant's Mind is his best chance against Yu, at least on his own. My guess is that Ren would gamble on Makoto staking everything on Enduring Soul eating Miriad Truths while using Raoul's awesome agility combined with Ali Dance to outspeed him and look for an opening like that, focus Satanael against him and then use Makoto's Curse weakness and his reliance on his evoker against him

Now that we have the DLCs for P3 Reload and have a reference for how Sinful Shell works, I understand that people will call it equivalent to Myriad Truths and on their own, I’d probably agree, but since this would probably happen at the tail end of their respective base games, I’d argue that Yu’s more likely to have done everything he has to for Izanagi-no-Okami to stomp everything. Yes, Satanael’s Pagan Allure and Tyrants Mind are unique to Royal, but so is its use of Izanagi-no-Okami and therefore his busted Trait: Country Maker. For the uninformed, this raises damage dealt and lowers damage taken based on Compendium completion, doubling the former and halving the latter at 100% and let’s be real, the Wild Card likely got 100% of everything in the canon telling of his respective game, one way or another. That alone means that he’s still the most dangerous Persona in a 1 on 1 scenario by far, but since I’m allowing myself to incorporate DLC representations of Persona movesets, this also means that Messiah wants to focus on healing as that’s his specialty and that with Oratorio, he can dispel debuffs on allies as well, but he’ll still be no slouch when it comes to damage output with Almighty Boosted Megidolaon, but his Curse weakness still will work against him

Of course, that depends on what DLC Personas Ren has access to. Yes, it's unreasonable to assume he can bring Orpheus and/or Izanagi into a fight with who they're the Personas of, but what about Raoul who expands Arsène's sleep spells to an AOE with high effectiveness and ups the power of his Curse damage? Also, it might be a stretch, but if he had the Picaro versions of existing Personas, he'd know what their affinities and/or skillsets are even if he didn't use them himself and plan ahead accordingly

As much as I may love Makoto, he's got the biggest disadvantage Persona wise since he requires a device to activate his. All Yu and Ren gotta do is destroy/get rid of his Evoker and he's stuck to using swords. Yu can use tarot cards to summon Izanagi while Ren's Mask acts as his way of summoning Arsene, so Makoto has gotta be extra careful when in this fight.

@@linkach8898 I like makoto not just because he's strong but because he really doesn't care a lot but the only game I played is persona 5 and I played that game to 257 hours be there three times so he just my favorite character because he should be the strongest in Canon at least some persona 3 through 5 and makoto never died he turned into a door but he's not he's he was alive and seeing how makoto fought the strongest Velvet room attended by himself scaling he should be the strongest persona user but about the the battle between them joker really should have not won so you might be thinking oh but he's better somehow but that's just not true because his the only reason joker one in the video is because he had better tactics than makoto but if makoto did become the leader then he should have been as good as joker when it comes to tactics and as you already said makoto's more used to fighting persona users while joker only fight one two if you count Royal and yu only fought one I'm pretty sure like I said haven't played persona 4 or three and I mean yeah you can get way stronger in persona 5 than you could in persona 4 and 3 but also you can't and I mean personas and persona 3 are only weaker because reasons reasons like you know makoto having only weaknesses with Orpheus which is why I don't want Orpheus as a character like let's say instead of Orpheus to use his second evolution I forgot what it was called.

Consdering the insane feat that Satanael has of one-shotting a god that tampers with the fabric of reality itself, I'd say based on feats Satanael is the strongest. Messiah might be the weakest one as he wasn't used against Nyx Avatar. Granted we have no idea how powerful Nyx Avatar truly is, whether it be the culmination of the entirety of the CU or if it’s just an extremely powerful Shadow akin to Izanami. Either way they're probably all around about the same strength if someone asked ATLUS.

@@wander1139 That’s not how that works at all. Satanael is not a lie or an illusion he’s an Ultimate Persona. Yu’s Orb of Sight is an item that "see through to the truth of things without being swayed by hollow rumors." This was a one time use item against Izanami, he never used it ever again in any spin-offs afterwards when he really should have so it’s safe to say he doesn’t have it anymore. Even then this item does nothing against Satanael. Satanael is Ren and his bonds power (and the publics faith in him) coming forth to evolve Arsene. It’s the same as what Yu does to get Izanagi no Okami. If you want to make the argument that the Orb of Sight would render Ren’s gun useless then that’s still wrong. He used his gun against Akechi, someone who already knows the gun is fake. His own Cognition overwrites the fact that his gun is fake (If they were to fight within an arena that has Cognition)

Personally, I think Ren takes this fight. That is if we take each person from after their highest point. Which in Ren's case is after defeating Adam, who by my interpretation of statements should be well above Nyx. Reason 1. Adam is the source and destination of existence, so basically the beginning and the end. Death has a start and an end, so that could be one reason for Adam being stronger 2. Azathoth, who is weaker than Adam, is the master of Nyarlathothep, who is one of the top dogs of SMT/Persona franchise. It is a being who plays games with Philemon for fun, who is the master of Igor. That being is weaker than Adam according to P5 Reason 3. Takuto stated that he would rewrite the universe with his own version, that's a bit higher on the power-scale than anything Nyx dreamed of Since Nyx is part of the Collective Unconsciousness, (arguments can be made if she exists wholly as part of it or is in-between realms as she did physically crash into the Earth at one point) generally she is there with Nyarla and Philemon in terms of power. At highest she is as powerful as Azathoth if you really highball her powers, but Adam is even stronger than that seeing as Adam is stronger than Azathoth and Ren defeated Adam so 1+1 equals Ren is at least somewhere around there in terms of powers. And Takuto did say that even if he were to redo the fight he would just lose again.
