That's a really weird decision. I can see what they're going for, in that the routes aren't optimal and that they don't want players using them to feel too gimped, but at the same time it does enough damage that people aren't really incentivized to learn to do it manually.

He's actually really good and has played a ton. The problem is the constant episode gimmicks forcing him to use alternate controls or characters he hasn't touched. I like the gimmick episodes but I really wish we had some standard ones that function more like Excellent Adventures in format where they just play whoever they want and try to win some points whilst bantering.
