I love seeing these updates on the renovation. For someone without a construction background, sometimes I wonder why the renovation is taking so long but hearing it direct from the people working on it, I'm in awe at the scale of what they're doing. This temple will stand for hundreds of years - that's worth the short wait now.

Just imagine the experience that this crew is receiving from overcoming so many obstacles - should they ever face a similar situation to any of these on a future job, then they'll be able to say, "Oh yeah, that's just like on the Salt Lake Temple - we know just what to do!" I have no doubt at all that God sent angels to guide them through and to keep them so on course through the walls and corners of His temple 😊

I was at the temple on an occasion and when I finished my ordinance work, a temple worker asked me if I could give them a hand. I said sure! He took myself and another patron they asked up stairs after stairs and I thought wow! where are we heading? We went all the way to the top in the assembly room where they had just finished working on some large seating furniture and needed help lifting it back in place. After we lifted the furniture, he said 'would you like a tour?' uhhh. YES! haha :) We went to quite few neat places such as the towers and the 'Talmage' room where some important books were written and then into the attic under the metal roofing. There at the east side was a set of 'train tracks' cut and sticking out. They used them to roll stuff across the temple top as they built it, then cut them off when done. Also on that wall was a block with a star on it. They had to decide if they wanted inny or outy stars. It was the only inny star made to see what they were like. They decided on outy's which are much harder to make. And they flipped the inny star around to the inside and used the block as they are not easy to come by... :) What an experience.

A fully functional machine shop in the temple? I'm shocked, to find the home of a creative person, who's son is a carpenter, would have a machine shop attached. Ether 3:1, 6-8. Not the first time he's been in a shop. Granted it is not needed all the time.
