Hey, does this stand have any other purpose other than holding PS5 vertical? Does it help with cooling or something else? I guess that this is ok and needed for digital version, but the version with the disc have enough support from the disk itself?

Adds stability, but if you have the disc version you don’t need it honestly. It’s just for looks mainly in my opinion. 👍

I feel the same way about the symmetry thing. I'm glad I went with the digital version slim over the disc version now, especially after hearing you never use it. I ended up buying a replica stand from aliexpress for a quarter of the price as I think the Sony version is overpriced for what it is.

@@TomasVillegas Will you be buying the midnight black cover plates for your slim? I ordered mine today, it's a lot of money for just an aesthetic change but the two tone white is pretty bad imo. Someone compared it to a Fisher & Price product and I think that's pretty accurate lol

And yes you can BUT there is airflow under the playstation. In long term you will hurt the playstation because you are blocking the airflow. So dont do it. Get scammed and buy the stand.

You can but it’s not recommended to stand the console vertically without the stand since there’s some vents on the bottom side of the console

Also it slides around too easy, my home theater subwoofers where making it move around without one, the stands rubber grips helped keep it in place for me
