@Xarifa Zee it has a max takeoff weight of 759,000 lbs. it was designed to support that much weight. what the heck are you talking about it being empty for? like its not close to 1 million lbs of usable payload on that airframe (which, yes, the engine mounts are in fact very impressive to handle the 110,000 lbs of force EACH at full throttle) thats a LOT of force on those wings.

An airliner has so much thrust that it can vertical climb. truly remarkable
@221b-l3t
@221b-l3t 7 ай бұрын
It doesn't but 777 has the highest thrust to weight ratio of an airliner but its not 1 or more, it's maybe a 40-50° pitch up, maybe 60°. Normal is 15 for until 1000 ft or so then 10-12. Fighter jets can have TWR of 1.2 or so, they can really climb vertically. And rockets of course. 1.5 is typical like Falcon 9 or many other. SPRINT missile had the highest. Mach 10 in 10 seconds. It began to glow red hot and had a heat shield on the nose cone. It was meant to carry a nuke and intercept an incoming barrage and blow them out of the sky. Cancelled one day after becoming operational. Check footage it's spectacular.

The plane loses velocity during the steep part so the pilots will have to timely bring it back to near horizontal flight to speed back up, as is visible in the vidoes here; no doubt that type of takeoff can be automated, this plane most likely is equipped for that because it went just perfect.

Great shots from multiple angles. I saw one angle of its almost vertical takeoff perhaps a couple years ago. But providing multiple angles, especially the side view, substantiates that its's not an optical illusion caused by parallax.

1:04 looks it was hitting/about to hit aerodynamic stall. The takeoff was pretty aggresive too. Is it because it's not loaded, the engine has more power, which extends the aero stall limit? Very weird

We don't know what speed they rotated at. Might have kept it on the ground for longer than normal to have more speed to trade for height, in addition to being an empty jet, no payload and not much fuel. Still pretty cool, but it looked like they only maybe got to 60 degrees pitch up. Vertical is 90. *Sustained* acceleration vertically upward requires a thrust:weight ratio of greater than 1, like an F-16 without a lot of fuel or payload. Now *that's* a massive amount of thrust, per weight.

can someone explain how in the world this didn’t stall???
@topfelya
@topfelya 6 ай бұрын
It's a very good question ! Here are the main factors : Powerful Engines , Low Weight Configuration , Optimized Flight Control Systems: Modern aircraft like the 777X have advanced flight control systems that assist pilots in maintaining control during extreme maneuvers. These systems help manage the aircraft's angle of attack and prevent stalling. Skilled Pilots: Airshow pilots are highly skilled and experienced in performing such maneuvers. They carefully manage the aircraft's speed and angle of attack to avoid entering a stall condition. During such demonstrations, the aircraft is not performing a standard operational procedure but rather showcasing its capabilities within safe limits. The pilots ensure that the aircraft remains within its operational envelope, using the thrust and aerodynamic properties to execute the maneuver without stalling. I hope I did answer your question ! Thank you for watching my videos !

Sure had to drop the nose quick to keep from stalling bad. Looks impressive for about 5 seconds and then you realize how stupid the risk is. Those engines will never sustain a climb like that. Any idiot with a yoke in his hands can do that for a couple seconds. Yobo barely pulled out of the stall.
