shaft shear from head shaft because while designing pump considering following aspect 1. Easy to assemble 2. easy to replace 3. cost of maintenance or spare part in vertical turbine pump mainly chance to break "head shaft or top shaft " .theare are many factors responsible for it such as axial thrust, back pressure, initial torque... etc. sleeve main function is protecting to shaft from wear & tear.

Hello, Practically we can't rise flow. We rise head by changing impeller dia but for flow there is no obtion. Only one option is change pump model with respective your requirement

Number of diffuser can't affect on the flow rate its affect only on head. Suppose single diffuser genrate 25 mtr head at 100 m3/hr then three diffuser genrate 75 mtr head at same flow means 100 m3/hr. So means that you can vary only head can't change flow rate.

I am pumping acid 1.8 sp. gr. rather than water then what parameters will change and what will remain unchanged?

You'll want to use a good mechanical seal to avoid any fluid leaking at the discharge head. The SG will require you to double the HP (compared to a water pump) and use a corrosion or hostile duty motor. Also important is to choose materials of construction that can withstand corrosion from the acid.
