Excellent work. Love it. One of the great American films. I saw Vertigo first as a kid but didn't really appreciate it at that time, I've seen it a further three times since through more mature eyes & my love for it has grown greater with each viewing to the point it's become one of my favourite of Hitchcock's.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, for instance, the church at Eddie and Gough was burned down in 1995, two years after the daughter of a distant relative of mine was married there, the high risers weren't there back in the 1950s, the mansion nearby the burned down church has since become a practice field for Sacred Hearts High School, and quite a few other buildings have been retrofitted or remodeled, if not demolished and rebuilt as new structures altogether, let alone the street are more strictly regulated than it was.

What I like about this particular video is all the little minor details that have changed over the course of time, between 1958 and today, even though San Francisco is still very recognizable. It's amazing how the trees have grown in certain scenes and yet so many buildings have disappeared, while others were constructed. I mean, even Alfred Hitchcock, himself, or James Stewart, would probably be mesmerized to see this, with all the exact filming locations spots. What! an utterly fantastic time traveling. Thank you! Johnny Montreal Canada.

This is (mostly) incredible... the way you match the film with your near-perfect angles of the current footage. The only thing that confused me was the CGI rendered scenes. I didn't get it. But yes, EXCELLENT editing with the old and new footage combined. Your angles and perspectives with the filming... it's very impressive. If I made films, I'd like to make something like this.

This is really something. I've watched many of your works like this and they're all really works of both art and tribute. In this case, "Vertigo," it really elicits feelings of nostalgia and melancholy due, in no small part, by the genius of Bernard Herrmann. His scoring grabs your heart and doesn't let go. But then there's the recognition that it and they are mostly all gone forever. We'll never see movies like this again.

So, the ones that seem to work best, like this one, are films wherein the director and location scout chose actual, identifiable places to shoot - and the locations mostly still exist. Toward that end, I'd like to add my own request, as others have done: "Chinatown." OK, so it's my favorite movie, but many many of those buildings and homes are still around today. I've seen a few but not all. How about it?! Thanks for the great entertainment that true film fanatics like me can appreciate and savour

Every Herve Attia video comes as a surprise and a treat, and feels like a passion project. They are also kind of haunting in their own way. These location changes seem fewer and more subtle than perhaps any of the other filming locations. The only change here that gets my personal stamp of approval is painting the Bus Only lane red!
