Wow! I would like to finish up my car one day and see how she goes on a track, yeah she’s only a V6 but I just want to get out there and see what it’s capable of. Great video mate 👍

From the internet, they look like they may be an L27 for the 3800 motor and a Getrag 260 for the transmission. Catera never came in manual in North America. Thanks again.

I went around Lakeside back in the 70s ad a kid. My uncle was member of the Jag club. He took me abd my brother out for the day. After watching him for hours driving around. He said he cant take people around the track. After he finish and we helped load all his crap back in the boot. We hop back in. Well he took us for a lap, in 68 Jag. He hit over 120mph. I reckon he was close to losing it, back tyres were squealing. Im 53 and still remember it. He was a bit nut job. He rolled a Valiant ute there and nearly kill himself.

lakeside is a fantastic track, a higher top speed than Queensland raceway as you come onto the straight much faster.

Love the series. Thanks very much. As you probably know, this car has different brand and model names all over the world. Cadillac Catera, Vauxhall, Opel, etc. Bump it up to a V8 and you can in Monaro and GTO. Different engine options and likely transmissions as well. Would it be possible to actually quote the parts numbers on the engine, transmission, clutch, etc.? Then trying to piece something like this together in another part of the world would be much easier. Thanks again for the build.

Noice video series. Me and my 20 year old son really interested. The $5000 sound good. Can you do a breakdown on what's the cost would be to race in a season. Cheers Graham.

Thanks for watching! so far all we have replaced is tyres and brake pads, which are consumables anyway. We seem to be getting 2 race meetings to a set of tyres and I set of brake pads per race meeting depending on the track and how serious the driver is. Entry fee's vary depending on what sort of racing you want to do.

how much time do you reckon it would be worth to run a higher final drive to properly use all of those gears? would it be cost effective? is it hard to upgrade it and bring alive the car?
@KCKLubricants5 ай бұрын
It would definitely be an improvement and to be honest we have done zero research on changing it!
