Namaskar am sir. I am a senior citizen. When I was a child, in 60's we resided in Triplicane. I learnt idhikasas by listening to upanyasam of Shri. Balakrishna Sastrigal. The Hindu High School , in Big Street will be jam packed. None will move from their place till the upanyas ends. Golden days. Now I listen to Bhagavad Gita discourse by Swami Omkaranda in Sankara TV. What a link . I bow before all of you.

I am Balasubramanian, Chief manager, rtd from NLC. Presently in Chennai. I am a music and Harikatha lover and I have also listened to a lot of your Father “ discourses. I have heard a your father Sri Balakrishna Sastrigal discourse on topic “ Ramavatharam “ during early 90s. It was a short and crisp discourse on Ramayana played in Madras AIR in a morning 9 AM to 10AM slot. I recorded it in a cassette but the cassette got spoiled in course of time. It is such an absorbing one hour discourse which you can listen repeatedly. In this discourse he talks about Valmiki maharishi, how he composed the Ramayana, refers to Thiruvarur temple where Lord Shiva is called vanmeekinathar ( Putrudai manalan ) and also about dakshinamurthy swami. It is a sort and crisp lecture about Ramayana. I searched in AIR website. It is not available. You have recording / or Anybody having the recording of this lecture ? . Can you spare me PLEASE ? Thank you.

Your mama and Balu visited TVM in 2010 and I had an opportunity to serve them. We do have few old issues of Vaithiga Dharma vardhini..I try to follow monthly rituals,Dhan as per this. Entire Apasthamba sraddham issues collected.Sivanabdha Lahahari, Soundarya Lahari,Aachara Kovai,etc..

Sir I was a temporary clerk in mount road SBI (alwarpet pay office). To get salary I went to branch and I got the payorder from sastrigal. The substaff introduced me to him.
