Please refer to the recent comment of Mr shaktikanta Das, flight of deposits from banks to stock market,, due to low returns, there is no leg room for a rate cut in India, ourr economy is not like USA, where 5.5% is too high, for us 7.5% interest is low, because we have seen interest rate of 15%, there fore lowering rates will be a double whammy, further flight of money from banks to stock markets fuelling bloated valuations, leaving banks dry, and further risk of currency devaluation and risk of inflation.
