I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

I'm so glad I decided to make this video on Monday because it was 86 degrees, today is 94 and extremely humid, not a good day to do this, but next week everything is back into the 60s for temperature and maybe we'll do another camp

The Truck seems like it needs a bit of ventilation help that you can open / close for summer. Maybe like one of those roof openings that pops up a little to let the hot air rise up and out of the van? It really needs a little something to make the van camp a bit better overall.

I absolutely love your videos and your little van house looks fun! I do worry that you'll get sick from cleaning up stuff like mouse poop in an indoor environment with a broom etc. Makes me anxious watching. I use gloves and a p100 respirator for stuff like that and would wet wipe/mop with disinfectant. I know my overkill approach shouldn't affect your way but do give some ppe a thought. Cheers bud

There are reasonably priced solar powered roof vents to expel hot air since you only need it when the sun is on the truck anyways. A couple of thin vents on the opposite end near the floor and you'll have decent ventilation. I'd try really hard to seal it up completely. For rodent control, use a home depot bucket and a bucket topper with flip side rodent trap. works amazing. Just need a ramp for them to go up. Sweet video post.

I worked as the tailor/postmaster at a living historical museum that interpreted the early 1900s. The farm houses at this outdoor museum had two kitchens; indoor and outdoor. The indoor kitchen functioned and looked like any farmhouse you’d see in movie. The outdoor kitchen was a shed next to the house were the men would dismantle the indoor kitchen and reassemble it within the shed for the women to use during the summer months. It would be dismantles again and brought inside for winter. Just providing a bit of history that may be of use when using your truck either in winter or summer.

It's interesting that you say that. I live in Wisconsin along Lake Michigan where dairy farms in the late 1800s into the 1900s almost all family's around here all had 40 to 60 Acre Farm milking cows and to this day if you go to any of these old homesteads you find shed with what your describing which they call a summer kitchen around here. My grandpa bought 2 old farmsteads 1 built in 1890s and the other built in 1901 and both had these sheds outside the house.

Two things that might help with the mice, I know they smell bad, but maybe put mothballs around inside the van in open plastic containers when you leave the van camp, and using small chunks of tootsie rolls as bait on the mouse traps, it stays stuck to the trip mechanism better than peanut butter, and mice like it

@@ashredfern8507 I have quite a lot of peppermint plants all around my garden. It is supposed to ward off many things, it doesn't Mice and ants love it. I would put poison out for the mice if I could be certain only they could get at it. The ants succumb to TERRO. The little devils, the ants, had quite a thing going, they were 'farming' tiny black aphids. Saw an article that called the aphids, plant fleas. They can reproduce without sex, the females just somehow replicate themselves . They multiply exponentially..? Eggplant plants are their favorite in two days the can turn the leaves into lace if you don't take action right away. The mice love tomatoes and zukes, you know a bite here a bite there and destroy much more produce than they eat. I depend on my garden for fresh produce for 6 months of the year, and it IS a lot of work. I do store some in the freezer for the winter too, and winter squash extend the harvest another month. I sure do WISH mint in any form repelled my pests. I have seen a few people who use a product their body creates around the borders of their garden, might try THAT next year.
