You have recovered wonderfully. They look much nicer. Well done. That's always a great thing.

Loved the real work to bring this back to life. I like that you replaced the turning handle with a similarly shaped one to the original. Very good look. Only thing I would change, since you obviously have the skill set for it, is stop using bondo or plastic filler. A TIG weld session of about an hour would have been an all steel solution. I don't have the skills to do it, but watching your work, I am quite sure you do. Really nice save on the jaw inserts. That took a LOT of time and hard work.

Nice refurbishing. Was destine for the land fill for sure, now a work bench. That's always a great thing. Now you either need to securely bolt it to a workbench, OR make a swivel base for it and than bolt it to a work bench... Thumbs Up!

Thought you would not use putty just to make it look pretty. But you did.BUMMER!!!

It would have been a lot easier if you used a socket instead of Channellock to try to take it apart!!! It looks excellent from what it looked like to start with and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!! I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up

Good idea with the home made tool. Next time try it with solid pieces instead of hollow you'll have better luck.

Very well done. You have certainly worked hard for this project considering the poor condition of the vice when you started.

Excellent work! I'm assuming it was made in the Soviet union, and the damage was quite considerable since then. Must have really been neglected for quite a while. What do you think about restoring a bench grinder for your workshop? That would be interesting and helpful.
