I find names so fascinating because as a teacher I have taught hundreds, in fact thousands of children in my career and names are very important. In my experience boys with names that end in an ‘ee’ sound like Danny, Lenny, Alfie or any name with a quirky spelling are almost always normally cheeky and naughty. (This isn’t to say they are bad kids it’s just the behaviour is usually more cheeky. Kids with normal names (Jane, John, Hannah) are well behaved and sensible. Ask any experienced teacher and they will tell you it is true!!! GENERALLY speaking kids with unusual names want to stand out and be different and generally their parents want them too as well and this means they’re often indulged and spoilt a bit so they are not good at towing the line at school. Jayden, Hayden, Caden etc and Maddison are always the worst behaved kids!!

Thats really interesting and definitely true I knew someone who was a teacher and she said you always knew what the parents would be like by the children's names and I can definitely see that haha. So interesting to hear you say that about the names but it makes soo much sense lol xx

I’ll tell you my name. It is Lysena pronounced “lee-zen-ahh”. I found out that originally it was a boy’s name , only with an ‘o’ on the end instead of a. Almost no one has this name and many Asian friends like it because it has many of the sounds they are familiar with in their languages. I was thinking as this is child number 6 -maybe a name with six in it somewhere or if this is your last child….a name that signifies last or end? Just some thoughts. Vert excited for you!

I like Lancelot, can't say I love Rusty, but I feel like whatever you call a child, they kind of grow to suit it. My eldest is Zackary but he was very nearly Elvis. My others are Charlie (NOT Charles) and Lily, and they suit their names so well. Every Charlie I've met is cheeky and mischievous, and my Charlie is definitely that! My name is very ordinary, Claire, but I really love it. I was almost Heidi, and I'd have loved that too x

Rusty is a common name in Australia, especially in the middle age generation. Sometimes Russell is shortened to Rusty. Echo would really blend in; Cosmo, Horatio, Roo, Flossy, Lilac and Echo 😁

I really really like the name Octavius,and think it worrks well with your other three boys, especially, Horatio' s, if I might also offer my suggestions of Orlando, because you really seem to enjoy that O ending for boys and I think it is familiar and strong like Horatio ' s without being another Noah, Jack or even Ezra, and and Marcelo/ Marcello, which could be pronounced Mar- cell- oh, with the first spelling or Mar- chell- oh with the second. Aurelio could be nice as well. Whatever you choose in the end, I wish you well with your beautiful new addition and all the best to you and your family.

The nickname for October could be Toby. I had a dog named Hero. You want a name that will make it easier on your children throughout their life. A fifty-year old will tire of having to explain the reason they were given a particular name. Ryker and Brennan are good uncommon names.

Hi laurien i love all your children's names but as i love the colour lilac thats got to be my favourite I'm sure when you see your baby you will know which name , we picked shennen for our daughter its made up she's 42 now and people still think its shannon and then called our son Christopher my husband always wanted that from the start he never liked his name as a child growing up but does now its ivan ....ivan the terrible ha ha 😂
