I like creating the drums first also. I find it easier to chop and create the sample around the drums

Yeah for sure. That’s how I build all my beats. Appreciate you watching fam 💯💯

I used to do it the other way, but these days… drums first… maybe. I think I did sample first and then drums after I heard 9th say he would end up with thousands of drum loops with no beats. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@kkkzzzxc Жыл бұрын
So the way I do is like I make simple drum pattern or put a drum loop. After that, I put sample chops onto the loops or simple drum pattern. And then I make new drums patterns onto sample chops.

@@kkkzzzxc Yeah. I think that’s the way Heat actually does it sometimes too. I’ve started finding the sample, laying it down with a basic kick and snare and then fleshing it out. 🤔

Been kinda doing this recently. Typically I start with flipping a sample, but I've been trying to get out of a slump, so this is an efficient technique. I agree on the off/on time situation..plus it may help you find your overall "groove". Peace, keep 🍳

@theycallmeheat

Unlike samples you don’t have to start with a groove, you can change it up at any point. Then put a new sample over it. 💯💯

the ALC sample was crazy!🔥i like the way but i prefer to programming drum patterns around the sample, fits better in my op!

True!! Sometimes programming is better than using loops. Just depends on the vibe or mood im in. 💯 thanks for watching fam.

I do this technique but I do the reverse. I will go through some samples and I will make a drum loop to match the sample or whatever. I like your way too. Good stuff

Yeah when I’m working with loops and chops for hip hop beats I make the drum pattern first, but when I’m working on creating chords and melodies myself I work the other way round.
@theycallmeheat

right right. I've always been drums first. even if I lay a melody down first. I mute the melody and go back to lay the drums. lol

Do you end up using the exact same drum loop on multiple beats because, I kinda do, and just add something ontop different each time. If drums sound good, I don't see the point of making new drums every time.
@theycallmeheat
@theycallmeheat Жыл бұрын
yeah, sometimes drum loops sounds better in diff beats or you just have that one that you love too much. lol, nothing wrong with it at all. Just dont over do it.
