About time a cheap auto brake light came along,having to press a button on the older ones was useless as in an emergency it would slow you down in all likelihood or you’d just not use it. I’m tracking mine now and hopefully it’ll come this week,I can’t wait- I know I’ll love mine too. It has a kinda Ferrari look to it which is pretty cool...think as a bonus the seat post adapter they sell for £5 is basically the base half of the 66p button cell type you see,I’m sure they’re the same size,also aluminium. I’ll be using this on all my bikes,other lights I usually just st leave on them :)

Here’s a link for a very cheap work around for Xl100 owners who want to use it on more than one bike. The bonus is that the main bit off this will go onto the rail mount so both bikes still have lights...66p compared to about £5 on eBay and a bit more on amazon. Its also a cheap way to get button cells :)

The description on the website says it turns off in very bright light so does that mean it doesn’t work during the day? I would use it during the day on the bike path that shares the road with vehicles I would need it to be seen and not turn off because of that feature. How about a seat stay mount? If you carry anything on the rack, the light is obscured. A mound on the rear of the rack would work too.

Most of the riding time the light works in brake mode because of vibrations from road bumps. The battery dies rather fast, as the brake mode goes at maximum brightness. Nice product design, but smart feature sucks, sorry cannot switch it off.

1) That slow flash rate is not very attention getting. Can the flash rate be increased? 2) Also, how long can it be on the bike in "automatic" mode but NOT being used before it needs to be charged again? (I don't want to damage the lithium cell by letting it drain too far OR not charging it frequently enough). Usually this is measured in weeks to several months for something like this. 3) Am I *assuming* correctly that the "20 hours" is when it is actively running on the bike in the lowest LED power mode (probably flashing) or some sort of ACTIVE LED algorithm. The 20 hours certainly can't be for when it's in "automatic" mode with LED off and waiting to be activated. Thanks

I've done some long-term evaluation (off the bicycle) and 1) haven't found any way to increase the flash rate 2) It has sat charged at about 75% and set it to "automatic" mode, then "activated" for brief periods about 1x per week over 3 months and the charge remained quite high over that time period (I used a massage chair to keep it low-intensity flashing for 20 minutes at a time). So, when not in active use but still in "automatic" mode it clearly does not take much energy to keep it on the bike between charges at 3 or possibly even 6 month intervals if you use your bike only for very infrequent and relatively brief rides (like a weekly nearby grocery store ride).

In auto... it should stop blinking once you stop moving it after a period of time. Manual means you have to click the middle button to activate it.

I realize this light is designed for a bike, but Im actually a EUC rider and owns 3 unicycles my 1st is the msuper 2 which I fully customised & has lights, my 2nd is the MSX which comes with both front-n-rear lites, but the Tesla has front & side lights but no rear light, I know makes no sence at all but thats what Im trien to find is the perfect light to maximize the safty of the wheel & myself and I believe by drilling a hole the same dia of the inner dimension of the XLite in the outter shell of my Tesla, I could then simple insert the XLite into the cavity like a nail into wood, which would actually be set into the enclosed wheel well of my Tesla which is totally protected from water due to the electronics stored above that, the Xlite looks perfect, But I hear that this light is not available in the U.S. so I'm still searching, but would still like to know the inner diameter of the Xlite so to prep myself for this project I want to accomplish once I find a reputable dealer or once they become available in America any help or suggestions would be appreciated ...thank you

I would think that having it as a "brake light" is not that important, as you are going so slow compared to cars that it really doesn't matter about whether you are braking or not. Instant on is good, and the USB charge is good. Still looks like a neat product, but a bit pricey for a tail light.

Ehhm... I ride up to 45-50 Kmh with My bike and probably have more stopping power than the average car (Hydraulik brakes 200mm front/180mm rear rotor) so a brake Light does make sense...

@@Ninjahall-12R even with hydraulic brakes, i doubt it has more braking power. The traction on the rear tire and going otb in the front will prevent you from stopping as fast. A lot of ebikers use this light since they brake from high speeds

i just bought two units, and it doesn't work as advertised! Tle automatic mode is really erratic and in manual mode, when the bike is moving on the street the light go to maximun bright ALL THE TIME like if i was always braking. Dont know if its about the street vibrations or the increased acceleration related to using an electric bike.

It lights up only when the bike has stopped completely. This means when you Brake, it does not light up. It's not a brake light. It's a when-u-have-come-to-a-stop light. It's not useful at all. More light a vibration sensor

My OPINION: Unacceptable as a tail-light or an automatic BRAKE light. This is based on a sample of one, but this should be a 100% digital system that needs no calibration and should be consistent from unit to unit. In the unit I just received It is so sensitive that the BRAKE light turns on with the slightest vibration. Even a very light finger tap on one of the sides or on the front or back will activate the BRAKE light mode. As a result, the BRAKE light intensity light is almost always turned on while the bike is moving. Virtually any rough surface, including "pebbly" but smooth asphalt paved streets, causes the BRAKE light intensity to activate to the point where the BRAKE light signal is almost never off. I have tried it in flashing, breathing, and constant on (when not braking) modes and in "auto" and "manual" modes and the result is always the same. While riding down a typical asphalt street this tail-light produces numerous false BRAKE light signals which will mislead car drivers behind you and runs its battery down much faster than it should. I tried it both attached under the seat using the cross-bar style adapter, and also tried just zip-tying it to the vertical bicycle seat post. It operated the same using either mounting method. I do think the light is bright enough and the brake light signal is suitably and noticeably brighter...and it COULD be a great tail-light if it worked properly and the brake sensor was a lot less sensitive to normal riding. But the super-sensitivity of the BRAKE sensor is just too much, and since this sensitivity is NOT ADJUSTABLE, and it is constantly producing a false BRAKING signal, it is IN MY OPINION useless as a bicycle tail-light and IN MY OPINION not safe. One other important factor: The duration of the brake mode (Maximum brightness solid LED) should be increased to at LEAST 8 seconds. It is far to brief as is...sometimes shining for less than 2 seconds before returning to its prior non-brake display mode. In general, longer is better in this kind of signal, and *eight seconds is long enough* to grab attention without being so long that a brief stop or deceleration will be mis-interpreted once you again start to accelerate. With the existing very brief brake light duration if a car driver looks away for even a couple of seconds the driver will 100% totally miss the brake light and not discern any change in your speed or intentions from the taillight. You also can't disable the BRAKE light mode, so you won't even want to use this light as just a tail-light as it can still mislead the car drivers behind you into thinking you're braking when you aren't. Edit to add: I have just compared this brake light to its very simjilar competitor, another "smart" brake light that looks ALMOST identical. THIS light is MUCH brighter than its competitor, but the competitor has far superior algorithms for detecting and displaying a brake situation. The competitor is in my opinion also too brief when displaying the brake light but the "braking" duration IS about twice as long as this one and provide a much better indication of braking at night. For night riding I would have no hesitation in selecting and using the competing "smart" brakelight. But this one is superior in brightness for daytime braking indication despite its other faults.
