welcome to samdalri was my introduction to ji chang wook. and anyone who says his performance was bad or that they didn't have chemistry is not real. i was in love of the show bc of him! he was absolutely incredible in the role. he would make me laugh, cry, and fill my heart with so much warmth. the chemistry between the actors were great too!

me too i loved the show to much ... well I did not understand why the show didn't hit the popularity .. not only the main caste but all the people in the series have gave there best ... i watch it 2 time but after watching this and reading comments I can tell that ... people only need romance and romance and some classy dress with some rude or badass actress ... but honestly this show was so good it showed lots of thing that life is not easy each actor represent something about life

Am I the only one that low key agrees with all of them? tbh most of the people start dramas purely for the cast and i feel like writers release half baked shows with a star studded cast and it becomes extremely successful

U can clearly see that she manages to steal the spotlight in many scenes whether it's due to her sadness cuteness or comedic one's.. She has different voices depending on her age. Not sure u noticed that bit 19 year old and 34 year old Imsol have different voices. Her cute scenes r incredible. Just look at 1st episode itself.. Yes her sunjaeya is iconic but her acting is not just angry sad sunjaeya scenes and it was very diverse.

Many shows earn popularity because of the cast no body these days cares about quality as long as their favourite actor or actress is acting in a show then it's a masterpiece......but I have to agree all the good shows these days are underrated. I find it hard ro watch over hyped shows these days because i fear it might be just another average show smeared with lots of hype and praises.... The formula these days is simple..get a mediocre script and cast it to famous actors and actresses make it a rom com which many kdrama fans crave for apparently and then it will be a master piece sadly

Personaly : - "My demon" was watchable but its not a show i'd pick if someone asked me for recommandation. - I couldn't even forced myself to watch the entire first episode of "queen of tears" same for "welcome to salmdari" - Although I really enjoyed "Lovely Runner". I do agree with some the criticism made toward it. KHY's acting was pretty good overall but her shocked expressions were so forced and unatural.

I think today's problem with kdrama is that people only want to watch pretty faces and happy end with marriage or proposal. If drama ends oposite of that, they will said it's a bad show. That's how they rate dramas. Korean dramas are more than pretty face and happy end.

I'm a huge fan of Ji Chang wook. But I had to drop samdalri just after two episodes. the problem is that romcoms can't use Wook's acting potential at all. After his phenomenal performance in Worst of evil I just couldn't take samdalri. About queen of tears - I have to say that the drama had potential but it was dragged for long. The incidents seemed to be repeated after a point. I had to drop it too. I didn't even watch my demon so it's not even a question. And since you mentioned King the land, I must say that it's one of the worst dramas I have ever watched. Just joonho and yoona's chemistry saved it all. What wrong with these dramas is the repeated plot. They keep repeating the plots and tropes because people love those. There are good dramas too! One example is backstreet rookie. There's no protagonist with childhood trauma, no forced humor, no excessive incidents. It's just pure romance and comedy. But people didn't like it as much. Why? Because ji Chang Wook's character wasn't a chaebol, kim yoo Jung wasn't an ideal employee, they didn't entertain the enemies to lovers trope rather yoojung chased wook (not the other way round). Home town cha cha cha is another beautiful instance of the same. And if you like time slip romance - a time called you is the best one. Maybe if we change taste - these dramas will change too.

i actually really liked Samdalri tho. Queen of Tears was so boring imo. My Demon was good but not that good, its a one time watch but not worth being anyones favorite drama imo. pretty overrated. Backstreet Rookie was not my thing only bcz the age gap weirded me out - You-jung was like 20 while Chang-wook was like 32? so that weirded me out, so despite loving both of them, I couldn't really watch it idk. (i have nothing against age gaps its just when You-jung was 20 it felt like kinda weird yk)

I just got done watching lovely runner, I sort of agree with what was said about how Im sol could've saved sun Jae so many times but I believe that her making those mistakes was the pathway to that ending the writers wanted, which I loved. This drama was based of a webtoon with a couple changes to make it realistic. It was truly an amazing drama with a great plot, chemistry, and ending. I also found it funny and entertaining unlike what was said. The actors, actresses, and directors did an excellent job in my opinion.

Lovely runner was pretty good to be honest. The story was good and refreshing. Thr casting was amazing and ryu sun jae character + byeon woo seok acting really made it amazing. I was sceptical about kim hye yoob chemistry with byeon woo seok but it was amazing. I didn't watched thay samal dari one but except them every kdrama was overrated and only ran because of the cast being popular and their chemistry.

Agreed with pretty much everything else but not the Lovely Runner's part. Like how are we saying that the KIM HYEYOON's acting is bad?? Like she is an acting genius. Who are these people who said that she showed only three expressions? Whoever did girlie you either didn't watch the show or didn't watch the show. Cuz there's no other way. If someone says they didn't like Lovely Runner,I can understand that it might not be everyone's cup of tea (Though I'm obsessed with it). That is only a minority. I'm even more shocked because this is the first time I've heard so many professional film critics compliment an actress's acting performance, and that actress is Kim Hyeyoon. Knetizens are already well aware of her acting skills since Sky Castle, and she is one of the few actresses who has been able to collect all the prestigious awards for the new actress award. So their opinion didn't bother me, and I simply assumed that they are jealous of her achievement. That's all.

In my opinion, it's not that serious... Everyone has different tastes and opinions, and it's ok. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's automatically bad. I love most of the dramas mentioned here, but you may hate them, and that's ok..its just the way the world works. Your tastes and opinions are not superior nor inferior to that of others. At the end of the day, it's just a drama, and there is no need to take it too seriously (until there is something absolutely wrong or offensive about it ofc) let people enjoy what they want 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry but queen of tears and welcome to samdalri are both pretty good queen of tears is emotional rollercoaster ride but it hits your every emotion on the right place.. And welcomd to samdalri is a comfort drama for me it will always be underrated its not about the story of just two people but also gives you peace when you watch it. So please dont defame it... For everyone who are going to watch this before watching these drama i would suggest you to give it a chance atleast once and that too for a margin of 2-3 ep for building up the story.

1. Who says the main plot of Welcome to Samdalri is the romance between the leads?? Isn't the main plot FL going back home and something like rediscovering herself? Did I watch it wrong? Lol 2. I get it why people call Queen of Tears overrated. But I don't get it why a lot of people also don't get it that the drama was over the top INTENTIONALLY. They PURPOSELY did everything over dramatic because they are targeting to grab the audience emotions through the actors stellar acting. Yes, the quality of good Korean dramas has gone down. Before they became so popular they were excellent. Netflix ruined Korean dramas with nonsense like Chicken Nugget where a woman turns into a chicken nugget.. dramas like Fated to Love You (I watched twice) has gone with the wind ! We are starting to see a lot of shorter dramas at 10 or 12 episodes. Some of these 16 episode show you can see that they run out of content and the last couple of episodes are just full of repetitive filler, possibly why some viewers drop the shows at episode 12 or 13.

Lovely Runner - I’m not a fan of the actress. I don’t have a problem with her. I just haven’t liked her characters. So I’m completely unbiased. I disagree with the comment about her facial expressions. Most of the time we can guess how someone we know is feeling by the look on their face. How? Because there are certain faces a person makes for when they’re sad or happy or angry, etc. Each of those clips are from moments her character was upset and that’s the face she makes when she’s upset. If that was the expression on her face in scenes when she was angry, happy, goofy, etc. then I’d agree with the criticism but that is not how she looked in happy or comedic scenes, scenes that she wasn’t upset. There were comedic scenes that just the expression on her face made me laugh.

***Spoilers*** LR - the first two trips were to prevent his suicide. The last trip was to wipe his memory of her. There’s only one time-line when she tried to catch the killer without Sun-jae. Not as many times as people are thinking. Now put yourself in her shoes - she just made it back from her 2nd jump. She thought they were free and clear because until then, her fear had been him committing suicide. The serial killer wasn’t even on her radar. She reconciled with Sun-jae. A day later he’s murdered. So this is her 3rd attempt to prevent Sun-Jae’s death. As far as she knows, this is her last opportunity. She can’t travel back again. This isn’t like the other two times she went back when she was just a fan. This time it’s the man she loves. So no, she doesn’t want the man whose death she’s still grieving to risk his life. She doesn’t know long she has. There best way to catch him in her mind is to be bait. She knew Sun-jae wouldn’t agree to this and would mess up the plan if he knew, which is exactly what he ended up doing. She was relying on the people who are trained and whose job it is to catch criminals. I understand why he did it, but if Sun-jae hadn’t interfered, the killer would have been caught. But Sun-jae called the cops to protect her and that cop caused the killer to run away. I don’t blame her for trying to leave him out. Someone mentioned her ability to stop time. Remember time unfreezes as soon as stops speaking. She’d have to have a whole list of things to say. The police would be frozen as well, so what would she do while everyone is frozen? She doesn’t have the strength to move him. The best she could do is take the cop’s gun, but it’s not going to fire while everything is frozen. She’d have to stand right in front of him and shoot immediately after unfreezing time. Then she’d risk being overpowered.

I disagree with lovely runner yet the drama was a bit a tiny but streched from the last few episodes but i enjoyed watching the drama chemistry was good and acting was also good qot i agree i am not a huge fan but idk what happened like the drama was not able to hook me from ep1 i watched till ep 6 or 7 and after the villain bdcomes the ceo and throws them out i am like what? It didnt made sense also idk bt fl she is a good actress but her role... um lets not talk abt that also i simply hated the fact that they showed the fl fine when she was suffering from CANCER she was still healthy?? I mean at they end of few ep they could have made her sick so she looks like a cancer patient in that case i loved how in marry my husband the fl became and looked sick Welcome to samdalri was fine yes the chemistry was not that interesting idk else i dropped that drama ml is a good actor idk what happened My demon.. . good storyline not so interesing watched till ep 6 To be real nowadays new dramas are really boring except a few i have started watching the old one and did enjoy before 2020

I have been watching kdramas for a very long time and honestly it definitely has lost it's touch in the romance department.....all the above dramas mentioned in this video were really not that up to the mark.....The chemistry wasn't strong, the PLOT was just tooo repetitive.....Now a days it's just the star studded cast and i believe the massive success could also be credited to the new viewers but i highly doubt old kdrama viewers could rank these dramas as a hit when compared to older romance kdramas. I badly need Ji chang wook to take over a thriller romance like suspicious partner. That man is GOLD from action to romance he is killer in every fucking thing. From lovestruck in the city to welcome to samdalri I can't see his these amazing works to be underrated. A man like him with amazing skills and visuls but still getting excluded from top k-actors list is just not fair

Queen of Tears was watchable but certainly not memorable. The FL’s acting was excellent and the ML’s acting seemed forced and exaggerated. I know he’s supposed to be the #1 actor in Korea but I disagree. My Demon looked horrible in the preview that I didn’t even bother watching it. Same with Chang Ji Wook’s movie. The only one I disagreed with is The Lovely Runner. Loved it! Both main actors were incredible. The chemistry was off the hook. It’s a fun, rom com and definitely memorable.

Also watched QOT, I had fun watching it, and got into binging other Kim Ji Won dramas but then I got over it easily. I agree with the "watchable but not memorable" part. I don't have opinions for the other dramas though because I haven't seen them.

Queen of Tears had so much potential but they were too busy fitting in as many tropes as they could with no care about whether it benefits the story and characters. Eunseong’s character was a terrible villain, he wasn’t threatening or sympathetic or the second love interest so his presence felt like a fly that just keeps randomly flying in your face and you gotta swat it away while getting progressively more irritated. But my biggest annoyance was that they didn’t address the miscarriage. They made it the catalyst of the downfall of their relationship, even put a flashback in the final episode to show that Hae In was in fact projecting her blaming herself for it onto Hyun woo, which is such a massive part of her character, and left it at that. It’s such a disservice to both characters’ arcs, she deserved to get the reassurance she needed then and he deserved to show that he understands her pain and tell her outright that she’s not to blame for the bad things that happened to her.

Honestly don't know why people hate QOT, You don't like it don't watch it no point hating , tbh it is a great series to watch, and yes starting 2 ep are hard to stick but it is important to build main characters . Those boring and hard to stick ep helped me enjoy the rest. I do like the series, it is not my most fav as Its ok to not be ok is still my all time Fav and ngl after watching QOT i have to watch IOTNBO to get out of those tears ....but story was good enough to give me few days of PSD.

My demon was like a cheap copy of goblin , Queen of tears was very similar to My love from star ( well same writer) , lovely runner was like mixture of extraordinary you , true beauty with a time travel plot. my Demon: dropped out after 3 episodes, Song Kang = Michael J Fox, eternal high school boy, cute but that is it. Of course The Heirs is a rip-off of Gossip Girl, less politically correct; Queen of Tears just boring, and ludicrous, and again, a school boy (Korea‘s favorite school boy?) trying to convince as a grown up. Lovely Runner criticism SPOT ON. Will please the simple minded, and there are lots of them…. Most of today‘s dramas we have definitely seen before. Take heart, Cdramas are even more simple-minded!

I Absolutely Totally Completely Entirely Utterly Fully Honestly Caterogically Purely Certainly love Queen of tears. The chemistry is chemistrying, the music and cinematography are fantastic, the main leads are not acting but living their characters. The portrayal of emotions is so strong that it can be felt through the screen. The plot of the drama is used to express deep principles of life: the value of time, love, friendship, family, support, sincerity, memories, resilience, self-reflection, striving to give your best to those you care about, forgiveness, togetherness, willpower, selflessness...... I understand ppl have different preferences and diferent life experiences that influence their perception of things, so it's normal that some will like one drama whereas others don't and vice versa. The great thing is that there are so many different dramas that everybody can find something for themselves and enjoy the things that make them happy. I wish everybody to find their loved dramas and experience as much joy as I did watching Queen of tears!

1.For me Mr. sunshine was an incredible show................. i watched most of the completed dramas out there . since i knew it was a tearjerker didn't watch it for the whole 5 years. It was the best guyz... Loved it so much.. Obviously i was crying in most of the episodes... But my blood was boiling while watching the last episodes the story was topnotch . I am saying my point of view, I didn't felt bored that's all. I respect their opinion 2.I couldn't complete My demon i felt it was a bit of a cliche and was boring for me... 3.I loved the feeling of watching lovely runner (If you get it you get it) every episodes where comforting for me......It made me laugh 4.Welcome to samdri also given that kind of comfort to me ( It reminded me of our blue, hometown cha cha cha ect..) 5.I don't believe ji chang wook in romcom are bad.....while watching the drama i felt like he is enjoying acting those characters wholeheartedly ..... ahh, Finally, a comment that is agreeable. I was looking forward to complete "my demon" was released, but couldn't get through first episode. Completely agree with "Lovely Runner", if you get it you get it for sure and every episode has those little clues and just so heart warming to watch, I feel like it's more of for people who experienced or wish to experience that first love feel that would like this romcom. I love Ji Chang Wook's movies, but this was ok, chemistry was not that great.

Hot take, but Welcome to Samdal-ri is one of the very few asked where Ji Chang Wook is acting. His dramas almost never work for me. I was pleasantly surprised when this one did. I did feel the drama was slower, but it worked for me nonetheless.

Song kang is actually not a bad actor. It's just that he's very beautiful and some people associate beauty with dumbness. So they think good looking people can't act or are not good at their job. Song kang has a more expressive face than many overrated Korean actors. He experiments with different roles so every time we get to see him as a different person unlike some actors who always play the same kinda role in every drama they do. If you see his dramas you'll see he brings every emotion needed for the role he's playing. Some people are just biased and can't accept reality.

To be honest while watching I really loved Queen of Tears but after finishing the drama I realised that there is some gap. Like the description of the drama was The couple in the third year crisis in their marriage. But that part was never explored. It was more of the family fighting the villians. I was waiting that at some point the leads would discuss what went downhill in their marriage, they would discuss the miscarriage to be honest till last episode we did not know that whenever Haein had miscarriage or not. I felt at some point that there were very less scenes between Haein and Hyunwoo. I was happy that there is a storyline exploring marriage concept, the struggles the couples go Through, how they overcome that but rather than that they showed many things. At one point i even felt there was no need for that big cast. I mean I liked the drama but I just felt I am not satisfied with the drama. I felt that the writer had done better dramas than this one like Legend of the Blue sea where storyline is focused on leads. I love Kim Soo Hyun very much he is my favourite Kdrama actor, I even love Kim Ji Won, she has great potential but in this drama I felt her acting potential was not completely explored. Please dont hate me for my opinion.

i think the reason Queen of Tears was so popular was because of the lack of good kdramas in recent years. if you put it along side other kdramas over the last few years especially the 2016 kdramas.. its very basic and nothing special. But recently kdramas out right now are a bit failing especially the last 3 years. not saying all are bad but good ones are very little example last year i watch over 20+ kdrama but my fav are ony - The Moving, Good Mother Bad Mother, Twinkling Watermelon however this year we have Lovely Runner which was honestly one of the best dramas ive watched
