People with excess visceral fat are at higher risk of heart attack, stroke, diabetes etc than people with excess adiposial fat (fat under the skin). I was like 20 when I fell out this culture. I started listening around 13 years old, the biggest takeaway from being involved in the scene and enjoying the music was the camaraderie and acceptance of yourself. Before I dove into it I was very quiet, I would observe anything and everything never really spoke unless spoken too. Didn’t exactly have friends, single parent household section 8 raised you know the whole unfortunate 9 yards. Once I embraced this I opened up a lot and embraced people as they were. Learned to speak my mind as well as keep my reserve, I loved it coming up. Grew out of the scene for the most part as I grew personally but damnit I have great memories being a Juggalo just running wild with homies. The gathering looks dirty yes cuz it’s a week long party, port o potties and showers. Merely an escape from the many pain in the ass jobs and day to day responsibilities. MCL. Ps don’t smoke while pregnant or spray paint your face lol

What I think is funny about these documentaries, being a Juggalette myself, is that every single one of them highlight only 1 side of the people who attend a Gathering. The stereotype. And what a stereotype it is....JFC it’s something. I went to the Gathering in 2016 and it was my first music festival. It was, hands down, the most fun I had ever had. I met some really amazing people who weren’t fucked up on hard drugs and were there to just vibe with people who had similar interests. I have met the stereotypes and I absolutely understand where it comes from but there is another side where you have the Juggalos who attend the gathering as a means to just get away from their day to day. A week to just let loose and be yourself without the demands of work and life. You see the drug users and the people too fucked up for their own good, but if you don’t vibe that way, you don’t have to and there are plenty of people to meet and hang out with that feel the same as you who will never pressure you into feeling like you have to do drugs or drink or show your breasts. They’re parents and have good jobs and live their 9-5 daily lives in stark contrast to what they may look like when you meet them at a Gathering. Also, no, I don’t agree with kids being at the gathering. Just my opinion. I’m a parent and I don’t even let my kid listen to ICP or Psy music yet. I saw a whole penis flopping in the sunshine while trying to buy merch and that’s just not something you should subject a child to. (Amongst other things that i am personally glad I didn’t witness) Lmao! It’s an adult festival 100%.

I went to the gathering of the Juggalos in 2009. I was on military leave and spent extra money taking two of my best friends from back home. I liked it a lot. It was fun, freeing, and the concerts were lit. I was sprayed with Faygo to the song pass me by and homies. It was amazing. The one thing I don’t like is not every female wants to flash their tits. There’s a lot of pressure throughout the gathering of people shouting “show me your tits” granted most who shout it are high or drunk. People legit walk around naked so I guess people just expect to be flashed. The one thing I liked the most is you could visit any campground, and people wanted you to visit them. They offered water, beer, food, conversation. People are very open, understanding, and welcoming to everyone. It’s the one place I’ve ever been where if there’s a fight people chant family and then those fighting start hugging. It is a life style. It’s society’s rejects coming together in one place and accepting eachother. It is a beautiful crazy horrific interesting crowd, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Not all juggalos and juggalettes are unemployed, there’s doctors, lawyers, managers, military, retail, fast food, project managers, etc. So many people have good jobs, of course we have a few delusional people but you find them all over society. Even though we have some legit unstable people, everyone accepts eachother. At the gathering there were even people helping eachother. Offering places to live, jobs, a loving environment. It may seem trashy to some, but it’s legit a community that helps eachother out and doesn’t judge where you come from or what you’ve done. You see young people and old people. Legit, you go to the gathering you are accepted and loved, it feels so good. It feels good to be accepted for who you are. Some will never understand that.

I think this is an excellent display of how the family unit has been attacked and significantly destroyed in America. I would be inclined to say that most of these people come from broken homes and have lacked any real family in their lives. Maybe they were outcast by their family for drug use, promiscuity; or simply didn’t have much of a family to begin with - whatever it may be. This has left a void that nearly every human craves - to have a family. Hence what you see on this video.
