Richard Mille was born to pluck the uncouth nouveau riche like a goose. I don't like his watches, but what he does is a public service. The Nautilus is a product of excellent quality in every way, but it has now found its way into the hands of dealers, smugglers, pimps, money launderers, and Patek seems to be quite happy about it. The Nautilus also serves as a bribe for corrupt officials in the Middle East.

It’s like nothing else and I’m surprised that Richemont would be so bold. I’m always criticizing conglomerates for not taking chances and this really blows up my take. I also like the bracelet’s width and wish more brands tried this or maybe very pronounced reverse tapers.

Brand will make sure it is exclusive only to those who spend enough. The watch will have a premium over retail due to the brand made /unnatural hype. Yes the watch is nice but to make it more appealing, the exclusivity will create bias to own it even if I first felt that the lugs and bracelet integration seem off but over time after media and collector sang praise on it, you will tend to forget about it..

It’s a really nice watch. Is it worth the hype and huge secondary market price? Not in my opinion. The bracelet is very similar in form and function to the IWC 43mm Big Pilot, which you can pick up for five grand now. The case is pure Lange, but because of this it’s too round for a modern sports watch in my view. If I was in the market for a watch like this I would shun PP and AP and go Moser.

The date will click far more simply like butter if you move the hands between 4-8 am. Great review. Bracelet feels very off to me; like a 90s Omega Seamaster to me, would be interesting how a rubber would might look on this piece, and I’m not a rubber guy. 😀⌚️💪🏼

I agree with everything you said about this remarkable watch, I would not consider a Royal Oak or a Nautilus but this watch I think says the right things and not loudly, as you say "a gentlemans watch". I also agree with Will Burrows about Moser but would still take the Odysseus.

Lol, slight edge...? Also, how is the large date of the SeaQ a feature when comparing it to the Odysseus? Because it's advanced via a crown? Having experienced both, I much prefer using pushers to advance the date. Lastly, SeaQ is just plain ugly.

last year i said "wait few months and you will see date day for retail in ADs" and i was right - i am NOT bragging, just simple economics. This year I will say wait 3 years and this watch will be selling brand new at discount in grey market like it would have been 5 years before covid.
