Not only srilanka All arround the world among buddhists. However srilankan is one of the leading country in Buddhism . Even buddhist flag introduced by Sri lanka to world and srilankan people are very generous .All over srilanka offer free foods everyone during Vesak and Poson festivals 💚👌

Nice video Adam !! Regarding Vesak festival here i have brought some facts for anyone who is interested in. Vesak is celebrated as a religious and a cultural festival in Sri Lanka on the full moon of the lunar month of Vesak (usually in the month of May), for about one week, and this festival is often celebrated by people of different religions in Sri Lanka. Normally vesak day and day after vesak full moon day are considered as holidays. People make vesak lanterns in different sizes and shapes. But mostly every Buddhist house makes a special vesak lantern called "Atapattama" which has a deep meaning (as a remembrance of "8 facts we shouldn't worry at", a teaching in Buddhism ). Although you see this festival as very colorful, mostly Buddhist people use 5 main colors; blue, yellow, red, white & orange (colors in Buddhist flag, also which has a deep meaning) The colorful lighting styles (huge) things you see here are called as "Thorana"s and they are made as illustrations of Buddhas life story of his early lives which gives you a deep understanding about the life. (Buddhist believe in previous life and after life) In this season you can see a lot of stalls (mostly food stalls and flowers to worship)on street, near temples and they are called as "Dansal" where anyone can go there and eat for free. People collect money from neighbors and together they put a stall (not only in festive areas, you can see everywhere) to give food to anyone passes by. The beauty in this season is, not only Buddhists but also other people Christians, Muslims, Hindus who are neighbors also join hand in hand in putting up food stalls, making lanterns. There are a lot more things.. But I will stop from here.. Keep up Adam..

About Vesak Festival Vesak is considered as both a religious and cultural festival in Sri Lanka. It is celebrated on the day of the full moon in May. This festival marks the birth, enlightenment and passing away into Nirvana of the Lord Buddha. The weeklong celebration gives the visitor a unique opportunity to discover Sri Lanka's religious and cultural traditions. Many religious activities are organized during this period in Sri Lanka. In temples Buddhists worship, offer flowers, light lamps and burn incense. Other than the exclusive religious aspects of the festival, the Buddhists of Sri Lanka, decorate their houses and public places with colourful lanterns called Vesak koodu are hung along streets and in front of homes and arrange for various cultural events to bring happiness to everyone on that day. Electrically lit pandals called Toranas are erected in various locations mainly in Colombo, Kandy, Galle and elsewhere. Food stalls set up by Buddhist devotees called Dansalas provide free food and drinks to passersby. There are some fantastic mime and street theatre performances, staged on tall platforms throughout the cities and towns near the temples. Vesak is also a time for great joy and happiness, expressed not by pandering to one’s appetites but by concentrating on useful activities such as decorating and illuminating temples, painting and creating exquisite scenes from the life of the Buddha for public dissemination. Devout Buddhists also vie with one another to provide refreshments and vegetarian food to followers who visit the temple to pay homage to the Enlightened One.
